Mm, yeah. Not.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, isn't. (That is, it is not a
commitee, isn't made up of physicians, and doesn't give a damn about
responsible medicine. It's a front for a vegtetarian activist group.)

About half way down the page you'll find what the AMA has to say about PCRM.

Oh, and Dr. Barnard, who founded the 'committee', is a psychiatrist.

"In a study conducted by Barnard". I'd like to see the actual study.

Nope, don't buy it. I've had bad PMS for years - have been having
better TOMs than usual. I might be unusual, but I doubt it.

LOL! He wouldn't have liked to be near me when I was lo-fattin'
I could clear a path through a crowd in no time with my PMSic mood swings.

PS. LC did wonders for my OCD too. Only check doors once now

So that's why he told all those lies ...I caught the segment this morning.
He not only claimed that PMS would be made worse, he claimed there are
studies that showed high protien diets depleted calcium and cause severe
irreparable kidney damage. Sheesh. Same old lies.

My PMS, when I had it, always was better when I was being more diciplined
about low carb.

What a maroon

Thanks, revek for the specific information about that organization.

Dr. Barnard (good buddy of Dr. Ornish) is doing his best to sell his new
book!

Yep. I bet if he were asked to produce those studies, he couldn't.

Note that one other organization you hear a lot about in realation to diet
and health is the so-called Center for Science in the Public Intrest. These
folks are the official 'food nazis', and have an axe to grind (ok more than
one-- lots more, think of them as modern Puritans). Not only that, they
want to legislate what goes on your plate in the belief that nobody but
them-- or at least nobody that disagrees with them-- can make a rational
decision about healthy food.

While they avoid outright lies, they do twist the truth so much that you can
barely recognize it, and have a distressing tendency to leave out dissenting
facts.

Well that was the best load of bs I've read in a while
I have endometriosis, so my TOM is a nightmare, normally consists of two
weeks of added pain and bloating and cramps. Since I've been low-carbing and
eating LOTS of animal meat, I no longer feel as bloated during my TOM and
mood swings and so on are less.

I've had dieticians in the past giving me a diet to help the cramps and so
forth, but I could never stick with them. Low carbing is probably opposite
to what they recommend due to the fat content, but it works for me.

*rolls eyes*

I wonder why my PMS is virtually gone and has been for quite some time. I
never have to pop painkillers for menstrual cramps, either. I don't intend
on ever going back to those painful days. Ouch.

Anyhow, he's a vegan. If he wants to eat his eggless cupcake, more power to
him.
