Default A "healthy" fast food meal

My wife introduced me to Taco Bell today. Their "pintos + cheese" is
99 cents, 180 calories, 10 grams of fiber, 4 g of saturated fat. Not
bad at all. I mixed 1.25 ounces of walnuts with mine (to make 400
calories) - pretty tasty - really! Anyone else have a healthy fast
food meal?

Most of the fast foods now have salads that aren't too bad. My daughter and
I sometimes stop at Wendy's when were out shopping and I always get the
Grilled Chicken with mandarin oranges. I don't use the almonds and 1/4 of
the salad dressing. I think the whole packet of salad dressing has 250
calories and I'm not willing to spend that many calories on it.

10 grams of protein. Not bad, but not great.

As long as you don't use their salad dressings.

Tupperware makes these cool little containers that are perfect to carry
around a serving of your own salad dressing if you carry a purse or other
bag. I know women who actually have an entire bottle of their preferred
brand in their bags

You can also buy single-serving pouches of low fat and fat free
dressings at grocery store salad bars. (I carry the little Tupperware
things in my lunch bag, but don't feel like I'd like to have one loose
in my purse :-).)

We don't have a salad bar at our grocery store. We're lucky we have produce
that isn't completely rotted out sometimes. Sucks to live in the middle of
nowhere. We are putting in a major garden next year provided we can get the
8' fence up.

Where do you live, anyway, Jennifer? I'm sure you've said, but I've
forgotten. It sounds like an interesting area -- and cold :-).

Or dip the veggies pieces into the salad dressing. That'll work.

Also, get grilled chicken sandwiches, but have they leave off the spreads
and condiments.

I still prefer whole fat dressings as lowfat ones are filled with sugar and
too sweet for my tastes. I just dip the veggies into a little bit and I
don't use much dressing at all.

Far northern Wisconsin, (ie the middle of nowhere) about 350 miles north of
Chicago. We're farther north than Toronto, just south of Lake Superior -
just over an hour's drive to the lake. I like being far away from the city,
but there are still some disadvantages!
