Starting the diet.
Do you need to do the induction part or can you still lose weight by cutting
down on carbs? |

Starting the diet.
Which diet are you starting? Whatever one it is read the book first and
make sure you understand it before starting. Then if you have questions I am sure someone will have the answer. hope that helps a little -- Jules I want to be the best me possible "Geoff" wrote in message ... Low carb does not automatically equal the Atkins diet. Cutting carbs from
your diet is a good start. -- Most people are dumb as bricks; some people are dumber than that. -- MFW "Geoff" wrote in message ... Do you need to do the induction part or can you still lose weight by cutting down on carbs? |

Do you need to do the induction part or can you still lose weight by
cutting down on carbs? I started cutting carbs while I was reading the lowcarb diet books and by the time I had chosen to do Atkins and finish induction I had lost 15 pounds. * |

I believe you can but only by significantly reducing
carbs; the more carbs you cut, the better your results will be. I believe the accepted upper limit is between 70 and 100 grams of carbs per day; you probably should actually keep it below those numbers. "mid-carb" diets do not work. I started low carb by keeping under 50 carbs. You can skip "induction," but
your weight loss may be less than it might have been. It took a month or two for me to lose interest in most carbs. Doing you own program may carry a higher risk of failure than following the book. Doing you own program may carry a higher risk of failure than following the book. It depends. Some people like the freedom of picking and choosing what works for them. Some people haven't had a book plan written for just their specific needs/wants yet. Books can be informative, but a person knows their own bodies and personal preferences best.
