ho hum.... where's joanna
A biking we will go, A bikign we will go, High ho the dairy-o, a biking we
will go.... DS's soccer practice was cancelled tonight, which kills my gym time. Its rainy and the sun is setting early (clouds) so its an indoor workout night - on the recumbent bike, doing low impact due to the knee pain. I'm BORED!!!!!!!!! dispite having TV on and watching stargate, and surfing the web. I'm bored. Need some mindless entertainment that will make a couple hours pass by in no time. |

I almost asked you how you survived the boredom of riding for 75 minutes in your other post (which I saw first.) That's one reason I like interval training - something is changing every minute AND it's over soon. How did you survive it? And how are you doing dealing with your injury? (I've missed a few long threads in my busy season.) I had a client cancel this afternoon due to the weather so I high-tailed it over to the gym. (We're having a blizzard so I did the sensible thing and WALKED there.) I've only worked out five times in the past ten days and this every-other-day crap is really bugging me. I need my workouts! I almost asked you how you survived the boredom of riding for 75 minutes in your other post (which I saw first.) That's one reason I like interval training - something is changing every minute AND it's over soon. Intervals on the bike are just as boring as non. Its just that the 2 mins of higher intensity seems to just drag out. I survived the time tonight when I found a couple friends from another group online and we went into chat for a little bit. 2 hrs total. Not high intensity at all. So its not like I was over doing it. How did you survive it? And how are you doing dealing with your injury? (I've missed a few long threads in my busy season.) I haven't started any PT yet for the knee. The problem i'm dealing with is - there are no PT's close to work. So that means having to take 2 hrs a day, 3 times a week off from work. As it is, its not soccer season and DS's soccer is doing more like a clinic vs. team playing this season. So he's got practice 3 times a week. I have to play "soccer mom" 2 of those days. With the scheduel for that, it requires me to work thru lunch in order to get a full 8hr day in at work. I'm already falling behind, as I'm used to working about 50hrs a week and I've had to cut back to 40 - 45 for soccer. Now to have to find 6 hrs a week to do PT. And, I don't have vacation time right now, after the honeymoon. My work is piling up faster than I can get it done. So, I'm stuck... haven't figured out the best plan of action yet. I know this time of year is tuff for you. but even if you only get a workout in every couple days, its better than nothing. But, you know that. |

Is there a P.T near where you live that you can go to before work early in the morning???? I know you are busy, but you need to take care of your health. Do they have Saturday hours?? Without good health, you have nothing. |

Can you take work home occassionally? This would also suck if you are paid
hourly and it effects your income... "JayJay" wrote in message There is a couple that are just a few miles from work. The thing is with them - they don't open until 9am. Which would mean I wouldn't get to work until about 10:30am. if it falls on a day I've got to be a soccer mom - 10:30 - 4:30 is only a 6 hr day. If I tried for and end of the day appointment its the same thing, having to leave work at 3:30 to make the appointment time. And because of my son, and his school schedule (can't leave a 10yr old home alone in the mornings,) I start work at 8:30am. 8:30 - 3:30 still brings me up an hour short. I'm trying to work something out. I know the company I work for will probably work with me on this. but that doesn't mean my workload will decrease. |

Yeah... you are in a tough situation then. I wish I had other ideas...
"Jayjay" wrote in message I'm paid hourly... although I do have some liberties. But techincally, per the "HR rules"... if I'm not there, I take vacation time. Well, that only works when you have vacation time... I used mine up for my honeymoon this year. (well, actually, it was the sick dog and cat w/ cancer last fall that spent all my *extra* time I had as a fall back). And - I work in IT. Meaning that yes, there is some stuff I can take home, but lugging home a series of computers, parts, software, networking crap, etc and so on.. no can do. And most the server work can't be done remotely from home at this point. There is busy work I could take home, but the bulk of what I *need* to do is on site type work. Sucks big time. |

Make sure you at least ask before you assume they won't open before 9 for you. I don't open until 9 am, either (which is helpful considering all the nights I'm up working until 2 or 3 am) but I *do* accomdate people who need me to meet them at odd times. Which would mean I wouldn't get to work until about 10:30am. if it falls on a day I've got to be a soccer mom - 10:30 - 4:30 is only a 6 hr day. Could you get DH to stay home some of the non-PT mornings so you could get to work early to make up for it? I know that would mean HE takes a hit on hours at work, but it might be acceptable for him to have this hit him occasionally and reduce the glare on how frequently you're short hours. Dally |

Well - the fever's definitely gone - the throat still hurts, but the advil/tylenol is reducing that. I've been on anti-biotics for 48 hours now, so i'm guessing the next 24 hrs will be the turning point ... moving forward, tho' iykwim. I want to hear about your pt appt - i'll email you upon my return :-) Teri |
