Ain't that funny...

I didn't WI.. just feeling skinny.. I was up 2.6 monday.. which was a bit
much for the week I had... so I'm thinking water weight was hitting me.. but
today my jeans that were tight last week are almost falling off me...

I'm the queen of water retention.. but this takes the cake..

It's always an issue for me.. if it's hot, if I had salt, if it's very cold,
if I'm stressed if it's anywhere close to the time of the month.. I'm been
known to go up by 8 lbs in a day..

I was WI-ing everyday for a while, was up and down 5-6 lbs from day to day..

grrrrrrr

Just remeber, water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. If you drink all the
water you are supposed to drink on the plan, you are injesting 4 pounds of
water. Add a salty meal to the mix and water retention can vary your weight
6 pounds easily from day to day. Being adequately hydrated is important for
weight loss as well as general overall health.

Don't sweat the day to day water weight changes. I track my weight on a
spreadsheet and look at the long term trend (3-4 months), not the day to day
stuff. I have a spreadsheet with both weight and percent body fat on the
same page. My bathroom scale will measure both and I think it is helpful to
see the changes in body fat beside the overall weight. If my weight changes
for the worse (up, of course), I like to see if my percent of fat
composition also changed. I am working out a lot lately and while my weight
has not decreased much in the past months, the percent body fat has. I am
losing the bad stuff while adding muscle. No net change of weight, but a
positive movement overall which the scale alone won't tell.

If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet, drop me a line and I am glad to
share with the group.

Willow, you must be a great leader because you care so much. My leader
is the same. She lives and breathes WW and just can relate to all of
us, young and old. The best part is she tells us about her struggles so
she comes across as totally normal.I'll miss the meetings these next
weeks I'm out of town.

My leader often begins with "Don't say where you heard this but . . ."
It may be for something like telling us about hungrygirl.com that rates
a lot of products and gives the WW points for them. A good leader knows
it takes more than WW products and tools to win this battle. Your
spreadsheet sounds wonderful and I know you put a lot of time and
thought into them. It's a shame those in charge are so inflexible.
