What was your starting and final weight, and height?

If you started very obese, it could be okay.

If you ended up very slim, it was not a good idea, but you may be
lucky and now suffer any consequences.

I already lost my weight, I was simply impressed. My suggestion to
you, seriously, is to start eating more, maybe 1900 calories. You

can
seriously mess yourself up by losing weight too quickly, we just had

a
thread about it. At least read up a little bit about it. You may end
up being very sorry and unable to maintain your weight loss.

i

I have to agree with Ig here. If you enter maintenance at a 900
calorie intake per day, It may be hard to maintain long term. Start
eating more now to get your body used to the extra. Your metabolism
will/should increase as well. I stopped counting cals and just started
using portion control and maintain quite well. ((so far)) I recently
did a weeks journal and average around 3100 cals per day. Some days I
may eat 4200. Some days I may eat 1700.

congrats on your success thus far!!!!

Assuming your post is not BS (hey, this is usenet...):

At that level of caloric intake, you are probably not getting enough
vitamins and minerals and may be doing long-term harm to yourself.

Most folks who don't have an eating disorder would consider a 900 calorie
per day diet to be very challenging, if not impossible, to maintain. It's a
"crash diet", and not a healthy recipe for long term success.

Your weight loss was about 5 times faster than is generally recommended
(most authorities recommend 0.5-1 lb per week - you supposedly lost 4.6 lbs
per week). Many people who lose weight that fast also end up gaining it
back, because they are not establishing good eating habits for long-term
health and wellness.

Was there some overriding need for you to lose weight that fast?

GG

Default Weight loss Question

Alien, I hope that you do not mind my question, we had a thread here
about excess skin that is left, according to some posters, on all
people who lose over 100 lbs. Is there some truth to that?

i

Yes I have a good bit of skin that will have to be removed surgically
sometime in the future. Mainly under my arms and my lower belly.(apron
of skin.) I would say a good 5 pounds of skin in total..(not fat) Its
pretty gross really. LOL everyone says. "oh you look great." I just
smile and say, "Its and illusion. You should see me naked. But
thanks!" LOL
I have a little saggin on my inner thighs. But the more I walk and
hike the more it seems to be pulling inward/upward..
?If? I am still maintaining in 2 years I will opt for some sort of
surgical alternative.
I also must make a point. I see some people say look at my sagging
skin under my arms. When in fact there is still lots of fat under that
skin. Just pinch it and you can tell. The area at the bottom of my
belly, under my arms and the sagging drips that used to be my double D
man boobs have practically no fat in between. The skin looks worse
when there is that layer of brown fat just underneath.Which can be 1/2
to and inch thick. Or more! When you get rid of that (which is the
hardest part) it dont look as bad.
Which brings me to another point. When I read that someone got 25
pounds of skin removed after weight loss. And they only lost 100
pounds. I would love to know the fat/skin ratio of that removed.

peace.
