Default Promising Research Regarding Fat Accumulation

convicted neighbor Will, T2 wrote:

Hello friends,

While browsing around this morning, I came across some information
relating to research being done at the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical Center by Dr. Jonathan Graff, and others into the
mechanisms of fat accumulation.

One article appears in the September issue of the Journal "Cell
Metabolism", and deals with a gene that has been isolated in flies,
but which also appears to be operative in mammals.... The action of
this gene "adipose" also appears to affect insulin resistance (IR),
and it may suggest new therapeutic treatments for obesity and insulin
resistance.

Because the article as it appears in "Cell Metabolism" is not free, I
am also providing a link to a Reuters article that appears on Yahoo
which discussses the research, based upon an interview of Dr. Graff,
as well as thee original article in "Cell Metabolism".

Dr. Graff and his team have been working on this sort of research for
some time. Here is a link to an aticlet relating to research on what
they called a "hedgehog" protein that came out in January, 2006.
