Default Mike's Low Carb Meals on sale - Massachusetts

I just found Mike's Low Carb Gourmet frozen meals at Stop & Shop
(Massachusetts and probably most of New England, at least). They are
normally $6.99, on sale for $1 off this week (I assume, but there was
no sign saying they were on sale but they rang up as $1 off at the
register this Sunday morning). Mike is really sticking it to us with
this price - double what even a high-end frozen meal like Marie
Callendar's is. But everyone is getting on the low-carb bandwagon and
the prices should come down. Even Slim Fast just pushed out a
low-carb line of products called "Success." I am going to email Mike
about that added sugar/corn syrup in the meals - it seems to be only
trace but it shouldn't be there at all. Also, there's a big range of
total carbs among his entrees, from about 14 down to 7. Kalish

Interesting, Kalish. I hope they show up at the two Stop & Shops
that I frequent. I was going to look again today, but the one I
was in was rearranging its freezer cases. One can always hope
they were making room for some new items--like these.

I pulled this week's flyer out of the trash - they are in the flyer
indicating a $1 off this week, at least in the Pembroke and Norwell
stores.

Wow! I'll have to pull mine out of the trash too. If I see that,
I'll be back in those stores. I do hope my #1 store stops
rearranging soon.

visible when the reaaranging stops. I'll have to go check out my

I found some in Lexington--not all varieties. There were spaces
in Bedford, but no cartons yet. I'm going to check some more
stores. I hope someone has the catfish and the jambalaya.

I wouldn't be surprised if they think the catfish and jambalaya
wouldn't go over too well in New England. There were "spaces" on the
shelves early Sunday morning at my store - maybe they were just picked
clean at the Bedford store, especially since they were on sale?

I don't think so. When I was in on Saturday, they were
rearranging the freezer shelves. I don't think got filled. I'm
going to try a few more stores. If I don't find those varieties,
I may suggest they stock them. Have you tried any of them yet? I
haven't. I WANT to, but at that price, I don't think I will make
a habit of eating them. Also, I have more control over
ingredients when I cook.

Haven't actually eaten one yet - I just wanted to try them, and
they'll come in handy when I just can't bare to cook anything, etc.
They are expensive, but then again, we have a cafeteria at work and
the prices there have gone up to $6 for a basic lunch entree. A lot
will depend on how tasty they are... Kalish
