Default "Best by" date on Atkins Advantage bars?

Quick question. I've been looking at the Atkins Advantage Protein
Bars (Smores flavored) that are selling for dirt cheap in eBay lately
(like, 25 bucks for 180 bars, including shipping). Real cheap.

However, one reason why is that all of them seem to be expired - most
of them have "best by" dates like February 2005, March 2005, etc.

Are these going to taste like grout if I buy a case that's
technically expired? I mean, any more than usual?

Opinions please.

I bet they are fine. I have had bars that taste very fresh and they are
better but the older ones are just kind of stiffer, LOL. You could buy them,
try it and if you don't like re-sell the rest on ebay? Resell in a few lots
and you may even make a nice profit )

I've always liked the bars. My problem was I liked them too much, so I
don't buy them or eat them anymore.

Yeah, I always thought they had by far the best LC bars, especially the
peanut butter & chocolate variety. My only complaint was that they were
too expensive, which was probably a blessing in disguise.

I thought their LC chips were pretty good too, though again, too
expensive.

They should be fine. They might stiffen up a bit but there's really
nothing in them that can go bad in the traditional sense. And if you get
ones that have polydextrose and/or glycerin in them, both of those act as
natural preservatives anyway. Another thought is to keep them in the
freezer if you're really worried about it.
