Atkins bread spotted at 7-11
I'd read that they were going to carry it, but had my doubts. I hadn't
seen any at the store closes to me, but was in another one not very far away and there it was - two loaves of Atkins bread in the freezer! I didn't see any prices on it, and being in a hurry didn't ask them to scan it. Prior to this, the closest place I could find it was at a health food store about 25 minutes away, which was a problem because of trying to keep it frozen on the way home. Even if it costs a little more at the 7-11, the convenience is probably worth it (depending on how much more it is). Lee |

Well it's worth it if you like spreading butter on a dish sponge and eating
it.. :-/ Teeb "Lee B." wrote in message ... I'd read that they were going to carry it, but had my doubts. Ive tried just about everything available here on the West Coast, and this is by far the best--its got me eating toast with my eggs in the morning again! : ) |

Save your money, buy a breadmaker and search this newsgroup or the net for
good low-carb bread recipes. I have several I use and the bread is always fresh and much cheaper than regular store bought bread. On to homemade lc tortilla's next... Rob |

I have a breadmaker. I would certainly like to know of good low-carb
recipes. I just bought a pound of Nature's Own Wheat N Fiber. 5 net grams of carb per slice for $1.75. Not bad, but fresh made would certainly taste better and possibly cost less. Actually, the Atkins bread doesn't taste bad to me. Heck, it doesn't
taste much at all G. Fortunately I'm not a bread addict; I don't eat bread for the taste of bread... I use it more for a vehicle to hold stuff. I've found several brands of LC bread at the not-so-local health food store that are also good, with more taste than Atkins. But I have to say, that in a pinch I'm much more likely to pick up a loaf of Atkins bread around the corner than I am to drive 25 minutes, and I'm more likely to pick up the 3 GM CHO Atkins bread than I am the quasi LC stuff at the local grocery store, where they try to convince me that 9 GM CHO is low enough. Lee CarbAddict wrote: I bought a loaf of Atkins bread recently and that has to be about the nastiest bread I've ever tasted. If we're supposed to attempt to eliminate or limit bread from our diet, eating that is a good incentive. Admittedly, tastes differ, but please at least try Natural Ovens Bakery Lo-Carb bread. It is net 3g/slice (8g, w/ 5g fiber) and at least resembles bread. |
