Right on. The price of attending is "scaled" right.

It costs only TIME to attend and so far, I'm willing to continue to
expend that. I think with the holidays just around the corner, that
attending will be a reasonable idea. Besides, I'm just two or three
weeks shy of my one year anniversary. I will see that through at
least. While a lot of the meetings are repeitious, I can deal with
that so far.

Here's to attending for a few more months anyway.

I really would like to be under 160, meetings would no doubt help with

Other than when I went out-of-town, I have been pretty much weighing
weekly even though we do not have to. I did go to one meeting not
expecting to weighin but my leader convinced me after she noted that
they get paid per body and that bodies only counted if their official
booklet (the one ww keeps) shows attendance. So I have weighed in
each time I go. It may help keep you accountable if you think that
you need that accountability.

I figure the Journal will help be see what I really am doing
snacking-wise lately. The snacks have been creeping up.

I suspect that the hard part of WW is the maintaining. Get back OP and that
weight will come right off like before. You are right about the journaling.
We get busy with our lives and forget exactly what we've eaten that day.
Before you know it you are out of points.

I don't know - 35 years - keeping a Journal when I'm 90 just does not
seem to be i the cards (G)

Actually, I guess if I look at things since I'm been on Maintenance,
I'm probably doing okay without the Journal. What I call my main
meals, all day, follow a general routine or rotation. Cereal and
Milk, a sandwich or chicken teriaki for lunch and dinner of a potato
or kasha and veggies and either a 4 ounce meat or larger fish portion.
An occasional egg for breakfast. Additional food if I'm planning on a
hike or bike or ski trip.

The work day snacks are generally a fruit or fruits or pretzels. The
home snacks are where I tend to stray.

Restaurants are kept pretty standard, too, with an occasional splurge.

But I am also considering dropping the weight by about 5 pounds and
that might require a bit more effort.

I may also learn that holding this weight may be too artificial but I
really do not think that I can justify that outlook. I was able to
get here without that much of a struggle (as long as my exercise
routines keep me going) so attempting to convince myself that I'm
starving really would not be convincing. So I just need to find
substitutes for stress or comfort eating.

I agree. I guess I don't like the TWO pound up and then down but
maybe that is where things are. Looking over my Maintenance Weights
I see since July 9th:

158.2
161
159.2
160.2
159.4
161.8
159.4
161.4

I still journal haphazardly, and if I really want to get down to my personal
goal I'm going to have to focus on it a bit more. It's a great tool to have
for the times you feel like you're starting to lose that control.

I think that's why I decided to start again- refocus and maintain
control.

If you were bit in the behind and it took a large enough chunk.......

Let me start again.

Yes, I feel that same way. Gaining that 2 pounds in and of itself is
not that bad. It is just the reflection of UP and have I lost control
again? Will I go up again this week as opposed to reining it back
down?

And yes, I want to be freer with those supposedly 4 points and have
some chocolate cake without it always showing on the scale or having
to be countered by eating nothing or less that day or the next. But I
have to be honest - those feelings did not help me lose this weight
and get to a comfortable hiking weight. They helped me cringe when I
saw my reflection in a mirror or shop window. So we just need to
control things all the time.

And you do get to decide whether to weighin. DO it. Why not - it's
just another control point. You clearly will not be above the
"required" goal and you will have official results of another week on
program even if on a bit more loosely. Or just track it at home since
the values must parallel the official scale close enough.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to a lifetime journaler after I reach
my lifetime weight. It's just too easy for me to get unconscious about
the amount of food I eat. Too bad about the gain, but hey! I'm
realizing from observing all you lifers that there're just as many
lessons to be learned to keep the weight off as there were in getting
it off.

Default Hey Roots ! NYNY - Fred, Oct 8th

LOL, Hey Fred, I LIKE my behind like it is now....

But yeah to the whole rest of the post. I ate well today, we went out for
pizza after craft day for therapy. A whole gang of us went, everyone was
ordering a :"combo" lunch?
The thing came, it was a "personal" pizza, 4 breadsticks dripping with
cheese, a salad drowned in dressing, and 4 more breadsticks with cinnamon
sugar and icing on them. This all came for each individual person, except
we did not order for the baby, I knew I would be able to share whatever it
was. Ma and I brought home 7 of the cinnamon sugar sticks, 7 cheese
breadsticks and a whole personal pizza. She, the baby and I finished the
rest of the 2 combo's we ordered and we were all stuffed to the gills. The
baby ate the cheese stick and half of the cinnamon stick and a quarter of
the pizza, she was very hungry. Ma ate the other half of the cinnamon
stick, a quarter of the pizza and her salad. I had the other half of the
supposedly single serving pizza and part of my salad. Some of the other
people actually ATE the Entire Lunch combo.

And people wonder why so many have problems with obesity. I was so buzzed
from all the fat that I mowed the yard this afternoon instead of waiting
until tomorrow.

Well, I just calculated Flaxseed oil which has been added to my
breakfast cereal over the last month or so. Yikes - 3 points right
there!

My leader will be 70 this year too, so maybe not at 90, but up to a
retirement age would at least work.
