Are you doing Core, and if not, why not

I lose very slowly too and hit plateaus on a regular basis it seems. I am
hoping that doing core will shake things up for me. Getting rid of the junk
would be a great start. I think I need a little more structure in my diet
instead of the "eat anything you want as long as you count the points"
routine. I don't seem to be able to count the points very accurately for
things so I may actually be over eating while I think I am on target. The
elimination of the majority of the counting with core is a nice plus. I'm
just having problems this week avoiding sandwiches and such. Too much eating
out due to the holiday weekend. But I am eating better than before so I am
happy about that.

Well, it worked really well until I hit that last plateau about 6 weeks

ago.
I lose very slowly - .5 per week, but it had been a steady loss. I'm very
close to goal now, about 5 or 6 pounds (depending on how Monday's weigh in
goes). If Flex doesn't work, I'll go back to Core until I reach goal.
Obviously I can "maintain" on Flex! G

Good luck next week. If flex was working before then it will work again.

Well, it's sort of a moot point anyway. Monday I will return to Flex.

But
thanks for the input. I'll keep it in mind if I try Core again.

I don't know then. These are great menus for Core. Everybody is

different.
The only other suggestion is that you should also up the amount of

fruit
and
go with more green veggies instead of the starchy ones. Maybe the

carbs
from
the rice & beans are what are causing your cravings.

No, I'm not having bread or muffins everyday. This past week I

spent
my
points on a beer, 1 cookie, low-fat sour cream and 1 hamburger

bun.

Sample menu:
Breakfast
banana
cream of wheat or oatmeal
milk
black coffee

Lunch
baked potato with veg chili or
black beans, corn, salsa or
2 boiled eggs

Dinner (varies)
stir fry tofu with veggies, brown rice or
whole wheat pasta with homemade tomato sauce or
tvp w/asparagus and brown rice

PS I didn't mean that I had cookies everyday before, but I did

have
1
Pt
of
chocolate every day on Flex. :-)

That is interesting. Are you having bread or muffin every day?

That
might
be
keeping your cravings going. How about posting a sample set of

menus.
Maybe
you have a different "trigger" food still lurking in your menus

that
are
causing the cravings.

I think that there are some of us who can kick sugar, and I think there are
some of us who need carbs, even the healthy kind but carbs none the less,

This is not true for me. If anything, my cravings for cookies and

chocolate
(which I had daily on the Flex plan, but I'm not willing to budget for on
Core) has increased dramatically. I did plan on spending part of my 35
points this weekend on such indulgences. As of this morning, I have 25
points. English muffin with butter and jam for breakfast! :-)

That is true but those on core have found that they are finding that

their
cravings for sugary things have dimished greatly and don't reach for

cookies
and cakes as much as they used to. There are also recipes available for

core
cookies made out of oatmeal. Here's one from another group:
