Returning after a while away. Having put some pounds back on while
recovering from back surgery, I thought I would try ediets express for a
"kick start." I have posted a review on epinions.com and here is a note
I sent ediets:
Your "express" is a crock! After cancelling my membership with great
diffculty, I can tell you that it is possibly one of the most expensive
mistakes I've ever made. You ship in midsummer to a tropical climate
using GEL PACKS and a shipping method that takes three days on hot
trucks and warehouses. I refused one order that was HOT and am stuck
with three others partially spoiled. In addition, when I checked the fat
content on the meals, I was appalled. The food varies from very tasty to
ghastly. I tried both available levels, and, quite frankly, the
"preferred" was slightly more edible but ridiculously overpriced for a
bunch of sandwiches, muffins and cereal (and, oh yeah, three cartons of
soured mlk). I have uploaded a lengthy review of this "service" on a
bulletin board and can only hope it helps somebody else not to get
involved in this lame programme.
I hope this helps anybody who is considering this. If they would get
their shipping problems solved and cut out some of the FAT in the meals,
it would probably be a great solution for busy (or lazy-in-the-kitchen
types...I vary between the two!).
I've decided just to make my own version and cook up four weeks of meals
at a time once a month, freezing weeks 2,3, and 4. I admit, I am using
some of their meals for inspiration...but, hey, they owe me that at least!

That's the best way to do it.

Right now, I could eat out of my freezer for a month, and they would
all be healthy "Core Plan" meals.

Just takes some planning and a little extra work.
And heck, when pork tenderloin goes on sale at $1.80 / lb, you have to
stock up.
