Default Challenge: Low Carb Dessert Recipe Needed WITHOUT Artificial Sweetners, and Non-Dairy

In about two weeks, my in-laws and our family are getting together.
Everyone is gourmet, and one member is lactose intolerant. I hate
artificial sweetners, even Splenda, as I can tell the difference.
They will too. Intensely chocolate is not a big success.

As a result, I want some control over what is served for dessert; I
expect dinner will be easy enough as meat is the thing.

So - what recipes can you suggest that can be delicious without the
use of a lot of sugar, but preferably no sugar. Cheese cake is
acceptable, but there is crust, and I have recipes for that. Ricotta
pie is the same. I can scrape off crust.

If you have the recipe, could you post it, or a link for me?

Thanks!
Kaede

why not chocolate dipped strawberries? you could find strawberries on the
long elegant stems, use a double boiler and melt unsweetened chocolate in
it, add butter and a sweetener of some kind. (chocolate can be pretty
bitter without anything at all) perhaps with the richness of butter and
chocolate, the artificial sweeteners wouldnt be as obvious? hope that
helps.

Quoting Kaede Nakao :

Most people like fruit salads if the fruit is fresh and of good
quality. Things like berries, grapefruit, apples, peaches,
clementines come to mind. A lot of how "low carb" this is will depend
on portion size and proportions of the different fruits you decide to
add.

Here's another one: mixed berries layered with whipped cream in
parfait glasses. Add a little Grand Marnier to the berries
(optional). Garnish top layer with silvered almonds (also optional).
It's easy enough to make one up with just the berries for the lactose
intolerant guest.

And here's one that I've been meaning to try and haven't gotten around
to yet:

http://my.webmd.com/content/article/89/100471
(Mint and orange scented melon cup)

ingredients: cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries, pear, cucumber, star
fruits, grand marnier or brandy, mint sprigs.

20 g carb/serving, 17 net. I think when I make it, I'll cut down on
the melon used and add another kind of berry to decrease the carb
count a bit. The cucumber sounds like an interesting touch.

Strawberries or raspberries with whipped cream. Everybody loves it!

I agree that a fruit salad is the best choice. If you add fresh basil
or fresh mint, that makes it even more special. Make some whipped
cream and serve it on the side to those who can enjoy the dairy!

I do this all of the time. though I usually just whip the raspberries into the
cream once it is whipped.

Wow, good ideas. Things I did not think about. But . . . more ideas
please! Keep them coming. The fruit cup looks good, and since I live
in the middle of strawberry land, I just might find some really good
ones at one of the local stands.
