Default What do do with my new toy?

I got a new stand-mixer, I love it but being LC I don't see alot of use for
it. I suppose I will use it to make the kids cookies, mashed potatoes and
stuff like that.

Any of you LC'ers use a stand mixer frequently? I got a 5 quart DeLonghi
with a 700 watt motor )

700 watt motor? You can damn near mix cement if you want to. G

I've got a measly 300 watt KitchenAid and when I make chocolate chip
cookies for people I love how easily it mixes those in.
I'm officially jealous. Enjoy!

Take care,
Carmen

Mashed cauliflower and whipped cream is about all I use my stand mixer
for anymore.

So it gets used about once or twice a week.

Compound butter is one use:

It's great and freezes well. Get a grinder and sausage stuffer
attachment. Also, get a grater attachment to be able to grate cheese.

Here I found an auction with the exact same one i got - even the mini
chopper.. oh...and i payed only 99$ shipped on this AWESOME deal I got a few
weeks ago (on shopNBC) - but sorry kids, it sold out really quickly!! i
think it retails around $350

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tegory=20 679

I think it lists all the specs.

You got a great deal on a very nice mixer. I am most impressed.

Thank you- I am a bargain-hunter as a hobby. I can't resist a really good
deal and this was a good one!

cannot think of many low carb foods to make with it (other than
whipped cream, as others said), but it is a great device. One day you
may give up LC, or find it useful to cook for kids etc, I am sure that
it will prove useful.

I am going to use it to cook for the family, I've always done alot of baking
and this will make it much easier. Also, the group here had some good ideas
that I will try.

Now, if you add a grinder attachment, you will definitely be able to
cook a lot of LC stuff.

I don't like ground meat so I wouldn't use that anyway - I prefer to hand
cut meat for chili or sausage. I was called a masochist on-air by Rocco
DeSpirito for this! LOL. I do have the mini-chopper though, and that has 4
glass jars w/lids and can grind nuts so I will be trying that out for sure!!

How many amps is it rated for? I am quite curious if it can really put
out the claimed 750 watts on a continuous basis.

I took a look on the paperwork and couldn't find that info, where would I
find out?
here's a link to the manufacturers website, I didn't see it there either. It
has the shiny new 780 watt model ...oooohhhh )
