Food & Exercise -- 8/2/2007
Today I ate (and drank) more and exercised less than usual. However,
I've had rather more exercise than usual the rest of the week so don't feel guilty :-). I didn't go running this morning as I had some climbing to do -- went up the mountain halfway to retrieve the moth trap that's on the slope (Michael, the director, was leading a summer camp hike up an alternate -- and easier -- path to the summit, so could retrieve the other one). My hike was short but very steep, and it was well up in the 90s today, so it was still some work. Later I went to visit both of my friend's wineries -- to buy wine to take when we go to visit my ex-trainer Tom next week -- and also went out to a late lunch with a friend and her aunt. Tonight we did a bit more basement clear-out -- not so much, as we've probably already stacked up more stuff than will fit in the truck tomorrow. Food: * 6:15 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter, flax seed, & dates * 11:15 (home -- after the moth trap hike): energy cookie * 1:00 (first winery): 1 glass wine (chardonnay) * 2:30 (restaurant): linguine w/ grilled shrimp, artichoke hearts, sun- dried tomatoes, olives, & capers, with a white wine sauce (not creamy); flourless chocolate cake; 1 glass chardonnay * 4:15 (other winery): 1 glass chardonnay * 8:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese & grated gouda Exercise: * 10:00: 1 mile hike -- 1/2 mile steep ascent, 1/2 mile descent carrying moth trap bucket & with heavy battery in my pack {On the descent, these things mainly just make balance a little more challenging, since it's quite steep in some parts, and rocky. And it's important to try to hold the moth trap bucket fairly steady so the moths don't get broken up. Michael does this -- as well as the climb up -- with two batteries and a bucket in each hand. I'm working up to it :-).} + plus ~30 minutes basement clearing, but not too strenuous today Chris 262/130s/130s |
