I saw your original post but since I haven't done the LA Weight Loss Center
Diet and know nothing about it, I wasn't going to respond. I haven't seen
anyone post that they're following that diet plan, btw. Most of us are on
the eat less, exercise more, repeat indefinitely plan.

Hi Tonia!

Thanks for your response. I was just curious about the plan....I agree with
the concept of eating less, exercising more and repeating! I used to dance 5
nights a week, and I never had to worry about my weight. Now, medical issues
only allow me to dance once or twice a week so my weight has crept up
there!...I am almost 58 years old and my body just isn't cooperating...:-)
Take care, MaryAnn C

Hi MarryAnn C,

Sorry I haven't heard anyone around here that follows the LA Weight Loss
program. I and a few others here have read "Dr. Phil's Ultimate Weight
Solution" book. I really enjoyed it and try to implement some of it into my
life as well. Most of us here have just changed the way we use to eat to a
healthier way of eating and exercise and use one another for support.

I hope this helps,

Paul

I started LAWL a week ago on the recommendation of several friends
who've enjoyed great success there. I started out at ~220 looking for
a 60-pound loss. With the Jet Start, I've lost 7.5 pounds, and look to
(hopefully) lose 1-2 pounds a week from here on out.

The main observations and caveats from my friends hold true for me:

- You will lose weight. Period. And you won't be hungry. I've had
trouble cramming in all the food required each day.

- Good news: This isn't Atkins! You get to have fruit every day, in
fact, it's required, as are starches, carbs, and all veggies. The
pre-fab supplements/snacks are actually extremely delicious too. I'd
eat them if I *weren't* on the diet.

- This program is expensive. Something around $10/pound plus fees and
other charges which for me amounted to $640 up front plus the costs
later on for supplements. Not a deal-breaker for me, because I was
ready for it, but the big-ticket items are sprung upon you with no
warning and as "today-only" deals. I was presented today with a tab
for supplements that had to be purchased upfront 'today only' for
$800+. I just said "no" and you should have seen all the flurry and
fluster in the back office.

- I was looking for a program that required accountability which takes
its form here as a 3X/week weigh-in. However, trying to squeeze that
into a lunch hour is difficult since the visits have each taken 45
minutes or more. There should be some kind of 'express' program for
busy professionals.

- The program insists that alcohol consumption is verboten but I've
managed to lose weight while still enjoying wine every evening.

- Each time I visit, I talk to a different counselor. I'd prefer
working with only one or two.

All that said, I'm planning to stick with the program for my initial
11 weeks, then I'll decide whether to spend the money for the
additional weeks/weight-loss.

Default LA Weight Loss Center Diet????Where did the post go?

Hi !

I worked at the LA Weight Loss Center about 4 years ago. I know it is a good
program and I had many of my clients lose a lot of weight on it. One of my
favorite clients was a young girl who stuck to the program to the letter and
successfully lost 110 lbs!!! I gave her a hug everytime she reached a weight
loss goal. I lost that job due to my crohns disease and frequent
hospitalizations.

You were wise not to buy the $800 worth of supplements available "that day
only"....It is a gimmick to increase sales. When the Center's sales are down
for the month, they will have those "special sales". We ( the counselors) had
to call clients at their homes and offer these "special deals'" I hated that
part of my job! I loved helping people with their weight loss goals and I had
several clients who insisted on seeing only me because they knew that I truly
cared about them.

Good luck with your program!...It does really work!...MaryAnn C
