Default Beware of New Health Valley Soups

If you use Health Valley Soups as part of your diet, you should be
aware that they have changed their formulation.

The new soups feature 'Organic' in big letters and advertise '40% less
sodium' on their new labels.

Actually, they have increased their sodium while lowering the protein
content!

A good example is 14 Garden Vegetable (a former favorite of mine).

The old formulation had 390 mg of sodium for half a can of soup. The
new 'Organic' '40% Less Sodium' has 480 mg of sodium for half a can of
soup. According to my calculator, that is a 23% increase in sodium.

The protein content in the old formulation was 6 grams of protein for
half a can of soup. The new formulation has 4 grams of protein. That's
a reduction of 33%.

Let's see--23% more sodium, 33% less protein while advertising
'Organic' and '40% Less Sodium'.

Hmm?

Another example is their Corn and Vegetable Soup. The old formulation
had 390 mg of sodium and 5 grams of protein. The new 'Organic' has 460
mg of sodium and only 3 grams of protein.

The advantages of a high sodium, low protein diet are lost on me.

Is this something new, or just a new way to make more money by putting
more salt and less protein into the can?

Perhaps they should change their name to Stealth Valley Soups.

This is really awesome report. This gives a good caution for every body. May I know where from these values you obtained from? Is these values printed on the cover packets?
