Ask you doctor to explain it to you. Did he/she tell you to check your BG
at any particular times? Are you T2?

Follow the meter's instructions. Test immediately before eating and then
one hour later.

Default How do I test ?

HI
Thanks for the answers
Marengo: I don't have a Doctor,Last time that I went to one for the
heartburn that I had all the time, he wanted to start with inserting
all kind of probes on me, At the end the heartburns dissapeared
when I started lowcarbing.
Not even with dentist do I have luck: I have beeen twice because a
cracked toot, the first one worked on the wrong toot and at the end he
had to extract the one I was there for,
The second one "never saw" the crack and after a month that I stopped
going there the toot finaly splitted in half. When I called to make an
apointment to remove it, they told me that I had to wait a month!
when they checked the copayment plan that I had the dr. started a
call to a Lexus dealer....
and they still call me to remind me to make a new appointment!

Jenny : Thanks for the link , I am doing one test right now, I ate a
piece of chockolate the size of an egg ( empty)
Sugar level befo 73

I will post the results at the hour and 2 hours

Thanks
Gilbert

Be sure your meter is calibrated and the test strips are new.

Gilbert,

Yes, the 73 is very possible. Particularly if your meter is "whole blood"
calibrated rather than "plasma calibrated." The Wal-Mart meter and some of
the CVS/Walgreen meters are "whole blood" calibrated.

If that is the case, your 73 is the same as a plasma mid 80s and hence
normal. If your blood sugar stays normal over the course of the test, that
is exactly what you would like to see.

Default How do I test ?

Thanks
The unit is a Walgreens Prestige IQ
And I just found out that the strips are may be expired ( 26 March 03)
I think I bought new strips once and used the old plastic tube, but I
am not sure.
then I inserted the strip ( 3rd test 2 hours after ) the first time it
showed 74 , just of curiosity I inserted the strip again after a few
minutes and jumped to 80, perplexed I inserted it again and went to 90
and the next one to 98, 101
Have to find and read the instructions, buy new strips and a bagel to
do the test tommorrow.
Thanks again
Gilbert

Yes, it is very possible. I wouldn't rely on one test, but if you
continue to see low readings you are very luckily in the "normal"
category.
