Default The LC Foods I couldn't live without...

Here's my list of LC foods that I can't live without:

-Poached or hardboiled eggs
-Egg salad made with olive oil and dijon mustard (substitude olive oil
for mayo)
-An organic Delmonico steak
-Organic baby Spinach sauteed in olive oil with garlic
-Green beans! Cooked every way possible & raw!
-Salmon
-Fiber Rye Wasa cracker for that "carb emergency"
-Almonds
-Sushi sans rice (a.k.a. sashimi)
-Slivers of pickled ginger (sweet and spicy!)
-Vintage brand sparkling water
-Filtered water
-Butter... splurging on the fancy french stuff
-BBQ chicken wings w/out BBQ sauce
-Little teensy eensy pieces of high cocoa content dark chocolate (OK,
so it's not low carb, but a little piece satisfies a sugar craving
right there.)

One of the miracles of this journey has been learning that I can get
my carbs from nuts, seeds and veggies and actually be happy 99% of the
time. Who knew? I thought I would die if I gave this stuff up! And
when it's truly an emergency, a Wasa Cracker or a piece of super
decadent high-end dark chocolate will deal with that emergency...
better that then picking up a pizza and a pint of ben and jerry's.

and then there's the
LC Foods I happily Live Without:

-LC foods that try to pretend they are high carb foods. They just
make me want the stuff more and half the stuff in the ingredient list
scares me.
-Diet sodas (it feels great to be diet pepsi-free)
-LC protein bars. The ingredients that ends in "-ol" always leaves a
nasty taste in my mouth
-Stuff full of soy protein
-Fried pork rinds - never tasted one, never will

Truth be told, Hugh Carb foods that I really do miss but am living
without:
-Pepperoni pizza
-Big Macs & French fries
-Mashed potatoes
-Cheesesteak subs
-Fresh bread of every variety
-Oreo cookies
-Grits
-Oatmeal
-Peas and Corn

What are the foods that you can't live without? What are the LC foods
you avoid? And the foods that you miss?

Inquiring minds.

Foods I can't live without: eggs, chicken, cheese, veggies---lettuce,
tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower (fauxtatoes!), cucumbers, cabbage,
asparagus, green peppers, onions, the list goes on and on!, bakers
chocolate, any high cocoa content chocolate (only in very small amounts and
not very often; hey, it's good for the heart!), sugar-free gelatin, pork
rinds

LC foods I avoid (like the plague!): lc ice cream (haven't found one yet
that doesn't tear me up), Advantage bars (taste like cardboard to me), lc
marketed drinks (Diet Rite is fine, but others leave me with a bad taste or
are too sweet)

Foods I miss: pizza, birthday cake (from my favorite bakery, but the bakery
is no longer in business, so I guess I'm safe---LOL!)

However, being on LC has made me feel SO much better and the results I've
experienced so far keep me satisfied to the point that I don't really miss
these foods that often. It's just not worth the pain or gain to me.

it is carb free but has aspertame and I can't drin kit - it gives me
cravings - I heard this is true for others too. I guess i just put it on the
wrong list!!

is cafeen free Diet Coke ok?

dunno - never liked it but it's also got aspertame

Thats what I did years ago - I have been caff free for about 5 years. I
regained weight when I had 2 kids - anyway. I found having Dr Brown's diet
black cherry and other non-colas worked me for, like Fresca too - because I
didn't compare it to reg soda. Right now I like the Wasit Watchers brand
sodas, even cola - it's got splenda instead

Yup... those are the best. I used to eat the coconuts
ones (about 3 a week, whenever I'm too rushed to make
breakfast, or on weekends when running around).

After discovering the chocolate peanutbutter ones, I'll
not be going back!!

(yada yada, frankenfoods, yada yada.... blow me!)
