NYNY- The return of the queen
I somehow can't imagine you sitting around with a broken foot for 8 weeks!
Were you as active before you broke your foot as you are now? -- Brenda 209/173/150 NYNY goal 160 "Fred" wrote in message ... Two week, huh? I had to be in one for 8 weeks when I broke my foot a few years back. Thanks Fred. He seems to be taking it as a big adventure. The only time it seems to worry him is when he can't get somewhere he wants to be. We're not allowed to let him walk on the cast until this afternoon. |

I'm glad he won't be laid up for a long time, that would be hard for a
little guy, especially one that is very active! "Erin Marsh" wrote in message . co.nz... On Sat, 6 Dec 2003 07:02:21 -0800, "Brenda Hammond" wrote: Hope your son is on the mend now. Thanks Brenda. He seems quite happy. Gosh, that must have been painful for him, poor little guy. It only hurt him when he tried to put weight on it, so it could have been much worse. It's a clean simple fracture so he should be as good as new in a few weeks. -- Erin in NZ 125/87/75 kgs 275.3/191.6/165 lbs NYNY goal 180.6lbs (82 kilos) "It is not the mountain we conquer, it is ourselves" Sir Edmund Hilary |

There are a few others with McDonalds in them. Children's Hospital in Philly
is one of them. Whenever my daughter was a patient there we had to get her McDonalds every night for dinner. "Fred" wrote in message ... Talk about healthy food in a hospital. One in our neck of the woods has a McDonalds inside. There was an uproar when it first was proposed by many of the medical staff but the administrator won out. I'm back on track, sticking to points. It's awfully hard to eat healthily whilst stuck in a hospital, especially when you have very little money. Still, not an everyday occurrence so I'm not going to stress over it. -- Erin in NZ 125/87/75 kgs 275.3/191.6/165 lbs NYNY goal 180.6lbs (82 kilos) "It is not the mountain we conquer, it is ourselves" Sir Edmund Hilary |

NYNY- The return of the queen
I actually, walked my 4 mile lake with the cast twice and then went to
my pediatrist who said NO MORE WALKING. I came home and did it one more time! (G) Yes, I was active then - broke it while hiking and since I did not know it was broken, I actually hiked out (in a lot of pain) 5-6 miles with it broken. Found out the next morning when I went to the doctor. Yes, I think my weight (too much) gave people the wrong impression. When I started physical therapy after the cast came off, the therapist asked what I did after about two weeks. I had done 70 miles of bike riding and a 7 mile hike, well, LIMP, anway. He was incredulous. But I think kicking steps on steep snow was not advisable and they put me back in the cast for another week!!! Found out the next morning when I went to the doctor. My dad broke his leg once and walked home on it. He had been drinking and had fallen, didn't even realize it was broken until morning when he woke up and couldn't put any weight on it whatsoever. No crutches in the house, he had to use the bars taken off the sides of my little brothers crib to limp his way to the car for the hour long ride to the hospital! He's a cruisey wee boy though so he's dealing well with it, all things considered. -- Erin in NZ 125/87/75 kgs 275.3/191.6/165 lbs NYNY goal 180.6lbs (82 kilos) "It is not the mountain we conquer, it is ourselves" Sir Edmund Hilary |

My MIL is coming back from England next month so I want to lose as much as I can by then. I did have one day off program yesterday though. My 23 month old son broke his leg and we ended up spending hours at the hospital. I decided that counting points was too much trouble so I just winged it. Hopefully not too much damage done, to me anyway ;-) -- Erin in NZ 125/87/75 kgs 275.3/191.6/165 lbs NYNY goal 180.6lbs (82 kilos) "It is not the mountain we conquer, it is ourselves" Sir Edmund Hilary |
