messed up this weekend........ kind of long.
I was doing good all week ,until I went back to work friday night and
messed up big time. I had things that I shouldn't have had and they made me ill. So need less to say I have learned my lesson and will not be eating that stuff again. Too bad I had to learn the hard way not to eat it anyway, I should have known better in the first place. I gained 7lbs over the weekend. and being back on track. And drinking my water have started to lose the weight again. I have managed to lose 3lbs. I started to behave myself Sunday night so that I could start to feel better again. I never want to feel the ay I did over the weekend again. I am doing Atkins so I think that, that is why it hit me so hard. I am on day two of Atkins and doing good. I drink any where from 4 -5 bottle of water a day sometimes more. I am eatin my vegetables and salad and other things that are permited while on Induction. My goal for the two weeks is to lose the weight that I so foolishly gained over the weekend. I also started to exercise. I started my walking tapes again and also doing ab work. Right now I am walking a mile a day and when I get back into it I will increase but am taking it slow as it has been awhile since I have done them. I also add 5 extra rep's a day to my crunches and other ad work that I am doing. So I am hoping that with this I can lose the weight that I want. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of snacks that I can have while on induction???? If there is anyone on this news group who is following Atkins. I really want this to work this time. Before I messed up this weekend I got my weight down to 121lbs. Thats the lowest I have ever been. My goal is 115lbs, I am 5'4 inches tall. Anyway, any advice would be greatful, and sorry this is so long. Angie |

"Anglea Woollcombe" wrote in message . .. I gained 7lbs over the weekend. and being back on track. opinion I would fixate less over your scales. I'm sure you didn't gain 7lbs of fat over a weekend - this would require an excess of 24,500 calories over and above your BMR - which is highly unlikely methinks. Be more concerned about your *shape* and your fitness, and your weight will take care of itself. Remember - Only you need to know how much you weigh, but everyone you meet will know how you look. /opinion -- Succorso |

I am not necessarily questioning your need for dieting, as such, although your goal weight is below the recommended healthy interval A BMI of 19.7 is within normal range, actually. I believe that women get the most benefit from being on the low end of the "normal" BMI. See the graphs at http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/weight.html for more info. The book "Eat, Drink and Be Healthy" has a longer explanation than the website but basically, Willett mentions that a BMI of 22 and below for women does the most to reduce risk of disease. -- jmk in NC |

the reason i am dieting if your are interested is because i have to watch
what i eat as i gain weight very easily. If I don't watch what i eat i will gain the weight back that i have worked so hard to lose. And I don't want to be where I was in high school weighing in at 165 almost 170 lbs. Exspecially at 5'4 inches tall alot of weight to carry around on such a small frame don't you think angie "Ignoramus16608" wrote in message ... The book "Eat, Drink and Be Healthy" has a longer explanation than the website but basically, Willett mentions that a BMI of 22 and below for women does the most to reduce risk of disease. Apparently, different organizations recommend different BMI (and yes, usual caveats about BMI apply). For example: http://www.diennet.com/areyou_00_intro.htm recommends BMI above 20. Many other places make same recommendations. Apparently, others suggest 19-25 range, or 18.5-25 range. Anyway, the OP is trying to lower her weight starting from a low weight already. It is pretty challenging, as such, and I am not sure if she necessarily should do "lowcarbing". I agree with you that lower weight is more healthful, in an otherwise healthy individual. I will try to lose a dozen pounds or so per year for a few years, until I get into a lower weight range. (This plan is subject to change.) To do so, I will try to eat a diet that is low in calories, rich in vegetables and other nutrients and is otherwise healthful, without being crazy or very unusual. This plan has been inspired by two things, my high bodyfat percentage, and by Roy Walford's 120 year diet book. It refers to numerous experiments on various species of animals, which all suggest that animals live a lot longer if they are fed a nutritionally adequate diet that is 20-40% lower in calories than their normal ad libitum eating pattern would be. I have no illusion that I can live to 120, but I think that I could live to 90 years and with low weight and healthful diet and exercise, my quality of life would be quite a bit better in the later years. i 223/176/180 |
