Default Question regarding the meat fast.

I've gotten so tired of the water retention I have been
unable to rid myself of that I have decided to do the meat fast for a
few days starting this Saturday in the hopes it will rid my body of
some excess fluids.

I have one question regarding the fast.
I am guessing that fish is not allowed on the fast or
could I eat some while doing the fast?

All this time, I thought fish *was* meat.

I think of fish that way too but I would like to be certain before I
embark on this.

I checked out the website and Kali doesn'y say anything about what kind of
meat, except for bacon and the like. So it would seem to me that all meat be
it beef, pork, chicken, or fish is acceptable. Or invent the Jamie-style
meat fast, for those who like fish!

I was thinking that while having a shower this morning because I
really enjoy my salmon, boston bluefish, mackerel, ocean perch and
sardines and tuna and would hate to give those up even for a few days.

Okay since most fish is 0 carbs anyway I will incorporate them into a
meat/fish version of a meat fast.

JMO, but I think as long as you are not adding too much salt, fish works for
this.

I tend to retain water very easily when I eat too much salt & I notice that a
couple of days of eating too much salt sort of "resets" my taste buds to want
even more salt.

What I do when I am water-bloaty is to drink a lot of black coffee in the am,
water all day and a couple of glasses of wine in the evening while eating
completely unsalted food. I mean NO salt -- as in a plain hardboiled egg for
breakfast, salad with nothing but olive oil for lunch and and broiled meat &
salad for dinner. No salt, nothing processed at all, no cheese, no mayo,
nothing that can have salt hidden in it.

And it always works, after a day (2 at most) my shoes fit right againRobyn

I hope you're aware that no amount of fighting water retention will
ever succeed more than a few days. Folks can fight water retention
sucessfully for a week, maybe for two. Beyond that fighting water
is like fighting the tides. No matter how much effort you put in
there isn't much difference in results averaged over a long enough
period of time. For actual tides its several days. For human water
retention tides its several weeks.

It is *far* better to learn what your water swing is and ignore
any weighing in that range than it is to doom yourself to an eternal
battle that is a guaranteed loser.

Meat is anything cut from an animal, so fish is meat. But I get the
impression these folks mean stuff that's zero carbs. Molluscs are
around 1.0 gram per ounce and crustaceans are around 0.1 gram per
ounce, so that seems to suggest that the meat fast includes fin fish.

I think fish is fine. It doesnt have enough legs to be meat (and i think
it ought to be a vegetable grin) BUT it did used to move by itself so
have at it.

Single malt scotch is awesome (NO it does NOT have carbs as DON'T vodka,
gin, rum, bourbon, etc generally)
Malt can be made low carb through the judicious use of yeast.
