relatively new Low carber
I started LCing in June after reading the 2002 Atkins Diet Revolution book. Before that, I had lost weight low-cal, low-fat, you name it, it was low (along with my enthusiasm). I used to post on asd and occasionally lurk here a few years ago. Reading the posts, I found the people here very knowledgeable, although I was still doubtful. "I'd never eat *that way*", I told myself. But I kept on reading. Later on, I quit reading the diet ngs, gained weight back, and put that part on my life on the back burner. Then for some inexplicable reason, I picked up the Atkins book. It totally debunked everything I ever thought about low carb. I mean, I got it. It wasn't about "all meat, all the time". So, whatever LC plan someone is doing, read the corresponding book. It does make a difference. Well, at least it did with me. Now what helps me is reading about living LC in the real life here. -- Lisa 208/178/145-150 Low-carb since June 2004 "Faith is the hostess that will not entertain doubt." |

Wonderful story, Lisa. And welcome to the biggest group of losers on the
net. I hope you're getting comfortable with the low-carb lifestyle, and enjoy good health with it! You're quite right about reading the book. I keep meaning to get and read the South Beach diet book for comparisons, but haven't done it yet. |

Hi Lisa, welcome (back) to the group! It's so nice to "get it", isn't it? Of course, once you DO get it, then you'll get frustrated with the ones who haven't "got it" yet and feel the need to come here and beat us over the head with their haven't-got-it-ness :-) (yes, I DO like to make up my own words) -- Saffire 205/149/125 - 5'1.5" Atkins since 6/14/03 Progress photo: http://photos.yahoo.com/saffire333 |
