Default clinton surgery question

jeff wrote:

"His doctors said that a number of days went by before the operation

decreased the chances of excessive bleeding during surgery."

What medication could they be talking about.
Clinton wouldn't have been on coumadin?

Jeff

Most likely various powerful anti-platelet medications such as
clopidogrel and/or 2B3A inhibitors (ie Reopro).

There are several medications he may have been taking. May be Plavix (The
Super Aspirin) Or Just plain aspirin. It takes several days for aspirin to
leave the system. No way to reverse it. Coumadin can be reversed by use of
Vitamin K.

Typically, our cardiothoracic surgery colleagues are not bothered by the
presence of aspirin so that would not have been the reason for delaying
the bypass surgery.

Coumadin can be reversed by use of
Vitamin K.

We typically use FFP to reverse the lack of clotting factors caused by
warfarin(Coumadin).

We? When do you have time to practice medicine? You spend hours each day
crossposting to newsgroups. Shouldn't you be using your spare time reading
medical journals; updating your knowledge, and studying your Bible?
