Default 3rd anniversary with Atkins

I started the Atkins way of eating 3 years ago on July 3. I had lost 77
pounds at one time, but I am not doing so good the past few months. I am
probably eating too many calories, although it averages less than 1700 and
less than 40 grams of carbs per day for the last 6 months. That's the only
reason I can think of, as I am really quite careful. I'll have to change my
mindset back to eating less, wish me luck.

As your weight decreases, so does your caloric requirement. Why not
just exercise more?

Happy anniversary, and good luck to you, Julia! You've come so far
already. Give your body some time. You can make it! :-)

I'd wish you luck if it would help. What does luck have to do with
losing weight? I thought that was related to stuff like winning the
lottery.

Sure luck can help! Some people just lose faster than others, for no
explainable reason. Like my husband and I, eating almost identical meals and
his losing much faster. While I exercise MORE may I add! LOL I know in this
journey I'll take everything I can get. Willpower, determination, and luck
too!!

1700 is a very specific number. Are you using something like FitDay to
calculate this?

What is your eaten percentage of fat by calories? (I'm wondering if you
fell into the low fat trap.)

I use a program from Hopkins Technology called Sante, which tracks
everything. Since Feb. 1, I have averaged 1590.7 calories, 41.4 carbs,
114.1 protein and 106 grams of fat. This is 60% fat, 30% protein and 10%
carbs. Probably I should get my percentage of carbs down below 10%, what do
you think?

It sounds like you are doing everything perfectly. Your idea of reducing
carbs from 40 is worth a try, but I doubt that is the key to re-starting
your weight loss.

I would try to reduce calories to 1400 and wait a few weeks. Since you have
established your burn rate as 1600, reducing to 1400 should get you 2 pounds
reduction per month.

I assume you are drinking your water?
