About That Fertility Thing
Ada Ma wrote:
Don't your worry Brigid - by the time you and your SIL both graduate you'll have a better chance of finding a job, and also a better chance of getting a GOOD one, than your SIL. You being in a competitive school is a very powerful signal about your ability, whereas your SIL CV simply says that she's reached a certain level of competency and she's lucky. I think you have a great chance of getting the last laugh on this! Boy, I hope so. As you can see, the school situation has me pretty tightly wound. What was really frosting my cookies about our conversation, was when she was defending her lack of science background. Apologies - I have never heard this "frosting my cookies" saying before. Is it a newly developed low carb saying? head scratching Really, I heard it first a few years ago. I think it's typically used by people who don't swear, but I'm not sure what it's a stand in for - it's a lot less obvious than say "cheese and rice". She's possibly angry with you for having lost weight while she kept on ballooning, and possibly suffering a mood swing at the dinner table caused by the blood sugar roller-coasting meals she was gobbling in earnest. Eitherway she's annoying... you should try to shut her up with a giant bowl of corn syrup - tell her the corn syrup is whole grain. G Hee. brigid |

Thanks for explaining - I just thought for LC people "cookies" are bad enough, adding "frosting" to "cookies" then it's ultra bad. Good luck with your studies! -- I am the mean, the median, and the mode. I am NORMAL. |

I wasn't sure if you were joking or not, but yes it does have a bit of added relevance to low-carb doesn't it. enjoy your day, brigid |
