Sounds like a few of them could use the exercise of walking up
and down the aisles.

He MUST have been in Wal-Mart where I was last night coz I
noticed the same thing myself. *sigh*.
If they would stop supplying those electric scooters then they
would HAVE to walk. Any seriously handicapped person would have
their OWN scooter or wheel chair
to get around in. And being obese IMO is not a handicap.

My oldest sister is over 600 pounds. Her legs will not even hold
her
up anymore. She has her own scooter but she even relies on it now
to
go from the couch to the toilet and back to the couch again in her
own apartment.

A sad way to live IMO.

Whoever is FEEDING her should be brought up on charges.

Hi,

The best way to diet is to eat LESS but eat WELL.

So when shopping think of how good food you can buy for a given amount
of calories you need to eat, instead of how much food you can buy for
a given amount of money.

cheers,
Pete.

I was driving 8 hours a day, twice a week for a year while
working on my degree. I noticed that on those days I wasn't
burning any calories to speak of. I finally learned that I
shouldn't eat any breakfast before the trip and also shouldn't
stop to eat during the trip. (Nor snacks during the trip).
Driving evidently burns less calories than anything else.

Hey ... you're just sitting there for 10 hrs ... bouncing along. Then
ya park for 8 hrs and sleep ... maybe some walking around in a truck
stop or a mall. Your left leg and right arm get a little use shifting
gears in the mountains but that's it. All that sitting combined with
a low fiber / high protein diet (eggs, bacon, potatoes or pancakes)
wreaks hell on your intestines and prostate too. I shouldn't bring
in the dangers of vascular leg thrombosis.

I used to nibble on Triscuit or the small Shredded Wheats and drink
bottled water. The munching kept me awake and provided a tension
outlet and the water was FAR better (and cheaper) for me than gallons
of coffee and/or soft drinks like so many truckers consume.

The water thing is the way to go.
When I drink coffee, I notice I am on a roller coaster. First the
hyperactive high and then the dullard low. My boss would be wise to
restrict my coffee if he wants maximum output from me for an even keel
8 hours.
On days I want to excel in mental prowness, I drink nothing but
water.

What a tragedy! I feel sorry for her and more sorry for those in her

I was reading this thread earlier during lunch -- left to pick up my
kid and we stopped at the market for some veggies and chicken... so..
I had to count!!!

I live in suburban NY (about 25 minutes north of NYC) and I went to a
popular sto Stop and Shop.

There were 15 scooters in the 'lockup section' and I bumped into 2 of
them (as they were on their way *around* the veggie section). There
might have been more in the store, but that is what I noticed 30
minutes ago.

And BTW, neither of the two people I saw were elderly -- both appeared
to be in their 30-early 40's and very overweight.

Taxpayers are paying for their junk food so they can get even fatter, and
consumers are paying for the purchase and maintenance of these scooters
through higher food prices. Nice, huh?

While this seemed like a true story, I noted a flaw. Social Security
disability payments are made on the 3rd of the month, not the 1st.

There are payments made on both the 1st and 3rd. Not sure if some are
simply cash assistance or what but they definately come on both days.

The whole story could be bogus. When was the last time you saw a store with
TEN scooters?

Give it time!
