slightly OT..how do i post pics?

I have a couple of photos that I would like to show you all, and my husband
is going to scan them in for me, but could you tell me what I do to post
them somewhere, when I have got them in the computer?

Yahoo and Webshots have free sites for pics. i have used both but currently
use Web Shots I am sure others will have more places for you to look at
too. I can't wait to see them. I love looking at other people's pics.

You can't load the actual pictures into the newsgorup, but...

Many internet accounts come with web server space, ususally in the
5-10 megabyte range. Check with your ISP to see if you do, too.

If you do, you'll also have a directory on your ISPs server, where you
can put your photos and pages. You'll probably need FTP software (File
Transfer Protocol) to transfer them from your hard drive at home to
the directory on your ISP's server.

BEFORE loading them, make sure they're not too big in terms of their
data (e.g., it would be best if none of them were more than 30K in
size) or the size on the screen (no one wants to scroll right/left or
up/down to look at a picture). A program like Adobe Photoshop Elements
can help you with both

Follow the instructions that come with your FTP software to do so.

Each of your scanned photos will have a filename (perhaps ending in
"jpg"), and when they are up in your folder, put the links here...
