"Perple Glow" wrote in message news:aj1lb.828964$YN5.891416@sccrnsc01... Hey Jenn, I'm back... that is a great idea about the laptop and take along dvd's. Anyway, I survived the trip. My aunt and uncle prepared grilled veggies for me. They were pretty good. However, they did have a little bit of olive oil on them. I didn't want to insult them by not eating them, as they went to all the trouble... so I just had a few pieces. I drank a shake while they all ate birthday cake. I worked out Friday before I left at Curves and took a long walk on Sunday. I will resume Curves again tomorrow. Whew... nearly 700 posts to catch up on!!! A little olive oil isn't going to kill you At least they were thinking of you! Jenn |

I can relate to what you are going through and I know how difficult this WOE is. I know that you are very well informed about your body and health. I hope to be as in touch with myself when I get to the place you are at. Anyway, what do you think about OA (overeater's anonymous) to help deal with underlying food issues? This WOE is getting me where I want to go, but I am scared about transition. Do you think that you've been able to successfully and completely deal with the issues that caused you to be overweight? I was thinking of joining and wanted another opinion... Anyway, -- Email me at: perpleglow(AT)comcast.net I've heard good things about OA but it depends on the area and the group. Up here I heard it's a very negative place. Either way, it's not my cuppa. I have not been able to *completely* deal with with the issues yet, but I'm working on them. The nice thing is that I'm able to work through things without damage. The refeed isn't easy but it gets easier. My friend at work that just went through it a few weeks before I did said the same thing - hard at first, gets easier. I'm really not having any problems keeping within my caloric goals and the increase in protein (adding beans each day) is really helping a lot. The water retention is getting to me, but that was expected from day 1. Regardless, I'll be seeing another loss tomorrow night. Jenn |

... You two got so upset when I told you to watch what you eat and your weight very attentively... I wonder why you got so upset... especially given your fairly bad history of not watching what you eat. So let me repeat it again. Watch what you put in yer mouth and watch yer weight. Otherwise you will fail in your dieting. If you had an eating disorder... Be vigilant. i 223/176/180 Because I already do pay attention to my weight and I don't need you *telling* me to do anything. You said not to take a two pound gain lightly (your words). I don't have time to obsess over things that didn't exist in the first place (explained in detail in other posts). You don't bother to read what people say and have demonstrated that you don't know a whole lot about dieting or nutrition let alone what's been posted about others particular WOE's. You just assume we're all stupid or something. Your final comments prove it. I do watch what I eat, apparently more than you do since I log it *daily* and track the calories & carb/prot/fat levels. I am not new to dieting and I know how to fail. You would know that if you could read. Maybe if you read the thread about weighing oneself you might pick up how easily your level of vigilance turns into obsession for those of us who have dealt with disorders. It's been told to you repeatedly (use Google) and yet you still disregard anything but your own worthless advice. I prefer my advice on diet and nutrition from people who understand the process and give helpful recommendations (found aplenty here on ASD) or the healthcare professionals I am working with rather than condescending edicts from the comprehension impaired. Jenn (who was down to 143 on the tanita but will probably weigh in at 145 because she plans to actually eat and drink through the day until 4PM weigh in) |

Hi Jenn, Are you allowed to take OTC duiretics to help with water retention? -- Email me at: perpleglow(AT)comcast.net I have special dispensation from the physician because I drink more than a gallon a day of water (plus decaf coffee, etc.). Otherwise - NO because you could easily dehydrate yourself. I only do it when I'm uncomfortable and since all of my new size 10s are getting so loose, a little water weight isn't affecting me in that way. Only when I can't move my fingers comfortably do I resort to that. Jenn |
