Default Finally showing a downward trend!

I feel like I "broke the curse" of having gained at every single nutritionist visit
since November. Last Monday was my checkup and I weighed in at 228. I mean 158! What
made me type that? I had to leave this mistake in this post because I think it's
significant that perhaps subconsciously I still see myself at 228. I am having a lot
of trouble with that -- and because I gained several pounds, I feel like I look like
I'm 228 again (the weight I was when I started at the nutritionist two years ago).
I'm afraid that if my subconscious sees me as 228, it might undermine my efforts to
finally get to my goal weight -- something I have never done. My nutritionist said
that as long as I am under 150 he would be happy, so I think I looked really good at
148 and want to get back there. (I was that on my home scale, not his, though--so I
may end up wanting to shoot for 146-147--we'll see when I get there.)

Anyway, to get to the point of this post, Monday marked a week since my visit, so I
went in for a weigh-in since I didn't weigh myself at home for more than a week,
which is a record for me! So out of utter curiosity and wanting to show progress and
stay on track, I decided to go in for a weigh-in at one week instead of waiting for
two weeks. I was 157, so I had lost a pound since the previous Monday. I was very
happy because it felt like I had broken a bad trend and I was finally showing a loss
again.

I will have to pull out my results of last Monday's visit -- can't find them right
now - and do an update in the near future so you can see my current numbers. That
will motivate me to change them for sure!

Mary, I hadn't realised this had been happening to you. Did I miss
something? Have you been able to identify what happened to stop the
regular weight loss you were having? At least you've been able to
have a taste of what you felt like at 148 and that must be an
incentive. I have no idea how I'd feel if I got close to the sort of
weight I think I'd like to be, and also if I'd been gaining since
November I would have put on many, many more pounds than you have, so
you must be doing something right

Don't give me such a scareg My heart sank when I read the 228. Glad to
see it was just a mistake and you're headed in the right direction now.

could it be that you feel physically bad due to overeating?

Well, not really because I haven't been doing it lately. I was just alarmed at having
typed that I weighed 228.

I'm glad you have been able to turn things around. I hope you do
post your numbers again... and really see how far you have come! I
was thinking that as I read your post. Then you ended w/ saying you
would do that, and it would probably help. See, you know it will
help.

Thanks, Jayjay -- I think that's really a good idea to find those numbers and get
some perspective.

Now - get too it! :-)

OK, OK! I know that yellow folder's around here somewhere so my weekend mission is to
find it, so I can type up my results on Monday.

Not really -- maybe a couple of posts about how I have been having trouble staying on
track, and haven't had a loss in a long long time.

Have you been able to identify what happened to stop the
regular weight loss you were having?

Stopped posting, starting adding junky items to my food plan that I would have never
eaten before, and also was cutting down a little on the length of my walks.

At least you've been able to
have a taste of what you felt like at 148 and that must be an
incentive.

Yes! But at that point I must admit more people were saying that I needed to stop
losing because my face was looking too drawn. I didn't think so, and my hips still
looked way too big at 148. Wish we had some way of choosing where it goes from!

I have no idea how I'd feel if I got close to the sort of
weight I think I'd like to be, and also if I'd been gaining since
November I would have put on many, many more pounds than you have, so
you must be doing something right

Thank you Janice, and that's a good point that in the past, I would have gained much
much more than 8 lbs. if I was on a "gaining streak." I could have easily gained 8
lbs. in a couple of days.
