Why not just have an apple, banana or berries as a snack?

Very simple. I don't like apples. I am sensitive to the acid inside
apples. (applie pie is different.) And the peeling too often gets
stuck in my teeth. Actually, occasionally I will eat a small red
delicious apple but I am just really sensitive to the acid. I'm OK
with bananas but I just haven't made it a habit to eat them. I can
eat berries. But I don't like going through the trouble of picking
them, washing them, storing them. if you want me to explain, just tell
me what you don't understand and I'll be happy to expalin it. As to
the storing part, I hate using stuff like Saran Wrap. I'll be damned
if I can ever prevent that Saran Wrap from sticking to itself.
Tonight I was wrapping up some toast on a plate, covering the toast
with Saran WRap. Tried to cleanly make a snip, but then the damn
thing stuck to itself. I tried again and again, same result until on
my 5th try, the damn cutting edge cut my finger.

OK, fine, and that's great, but not everyone gets plenty of fiber in
their diet. Just like not everyone gets enough B6 or B12 or C or E or
K or Phosphorus or Magnesium in their diet. So they take supplements.
Metamucil is a supplement.

Joe

Here are some foods high in fiber, low in fat, and less dangerous than saran
wrap:
All Bran Cereal
Fiber One Cereal
Raspberries or Blackberries (can be purchased frozen and used to make
smoothies - no cleaning or cutting - maybe you can manage plastic bags??)
cauliflower
spinach
lettuce
artichokes and artichoke hearts
broccoli
green beans
wax beans
okra
carrots
brussels sprouts
tomatoes

Just scraping the surface. Supplements are fine when you really need them
and can't eat properly, but eating properly is the best way to get your
nutrients.

Joe,

What I do is eat Wasa Brand Fiber Rye Crispbreads (in the bread
section of your supermarket). High fiber, and the only fat in them is
from the healthy sesame seeds. When I eat a sandwich for lunch, I
ditch the bread, eat the insides, and eat my crispbreads. For a yummy
and healthy snack try spreading a little peanut butter on them. Olive
oil is also good.

A little pesto on the Wasa Rye is wonderful too!
