Just had to share!
Hit a major milestone this morning: I've officially lost 100 pounds since I
started this journey more than a year ago. Only 8 more pounds to go before I reach my goal! To anyone just beginning a new way of eating and way of life in the hopes of becoming healthier (and thinner), I can assure you that I am living proof that "slow and steady" really does work. All the tiny incremental losses really do add up to big losses if you just keep plugging away at it. Most weeks I lost one or two pounds, a few weeks I lost more, many weeks I lost less (or none at all) and a few times actually re-gained a little bit...but overall it added up to a lot. Today is a very good day! :-) Jane 235/135/127 |

I just reached a 50 lb. milestone myself. And agreed, it's a slow process. I only step on the scale once a week. No point in getting upset on a daily basis. You've almost lost 1/2 of you. Good job! I figure that I've finally lost that spare person that my husband wasn't legally married to! ;-) And congratulations right back at you! You've made some pretty good progress yourself. That's great! :-) I only weight myself once per week, too. There are so many fluctuations with daily weigh-ins...it would make me crazy (as if I needed the extra push!). Jane 235/135/127 |

The closer I've gotten to goal, the more crystal clear it's become that *losing* it is one thing and *keeping it off* is another thing altogether. I've recently started using a nutritional scale which has been very helpful (and illuminating: I was pretty surprised to learn how much I was underestimating portion size and caloric content with some foods). Guess being ever vigilant is a key to long-term success. Jane 235/135/127 |
