Except for induction, I had a half cup of berries, canteloupe or honeydew chunks or peaches almost every day of my weight loss period, and more on maintenance. Even when I wasn't avoiding aspartame, I found Crystal Light grotesquely oversweetened. I prefer unsweetened Kool-Aid, with sweetener equivalent to about half a cup of sugar instead of a full cup. It tastes more like juice and less like bad liquid candy that way. 168/125/125 LC since 2/18/97 maintaining since 3/17/99 -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |

Ya Bev your right about it being sweet , I think so too, but sometimes I
crave something really sweet and this seems to be ok for me anyway. The ice tea is "really " good , I don't know what is happening as I never had a problem with sweet stuff it was always the bread pasta and rice thing, now I don't care for them and want something for my sweet tooth. I am lucky as the Crystal Light , does not leave me wanting anything else for a long time and sometimes I have to remind myself to eat . Have a great 4th. hugs BettyLou "Bev-Ann" wrote in message ... on 3 Jul 2004 16:41:46 GMT, (jamie) wrote: Miss fruit? Yeah, I eat more fruit now than I did before LC. Generally 3/4 cup of berries mixed with rhubarb or 2 or 3 pineapple chunks every morning in my smoothie or on LC cereal. I'm doing the unsweetened Kool-Aid and zero-carb sweetener thing too. Only 0.8g carbs in an entire 2 litre (2 quart) pitcher. I like Crystal Light, but it's not zero-carb as the original poster says. I'll start using it again once I'm at my goal weight because I still think they make the best tasting iced-tea blends. ----- Bev |

0.8g carbs in an entire 2 litre (2 quart) pitcher. I just discovered this, and am making it with sweetzfree. The problem is that I'm drinking WAY too much of it. It's TOO good, LOL! And I NEVER drank kool-aid before. Pepsi, sure. But I never, ever drank kool-aid, except maybe when I was a kid at camp. I'm like you. I don't have a sweet tooth either but I don't find Crystal
Light to be too sweet. That's why I like their iced-tea blends, especially the raspberry one. Be aware that some people have problems with aspartame. It's been known to stall weight loss. I don't know if this would have happened to me, I just stopped drinking anything with aspartame, including Crystal Light, when I found that out. Maybe you'll be one of the people it doesn't have this affect on. And thanks, but I'm Canadian and we celebrated our nation's day on the 1st of July. Happy 4th to you, though. :-) on Sat, 3 Jul 2004 14:40:11 -0400, "Betty Lou Locke" wrote: Ya Bev your right about it being sweet , I think so too, but sometimes I crave something really sweet and this seems to be ok for me anyway. I've been drinking Kool-Aid or Crystal Light for as long as I can remember.
I've never been a soda pop drinker. We've had Splenda in Canada for a long time and pre-LC, I made my Kool-Aid with 1/2 cup of the pourable stuff. I have Sweetzfree too, but save it for baking. I use 1/4 teaspoon Stevia extract powder and 3/4 teaspoon liquid Sugar Twin in my pitcher of Kool-Aid instead. It someone from this NG who turned me onto that formula. :-) on 03 Jul 2004 23:14:03 GMT, (LCer09) wrote: I just discovered this, and am making it with sweetzfree. "The ice tea is "really " good "
A good way to make REALLY GOOD iced tea is to brew it yourself. Add splenda and lemon. Sheli |

Before that I used 10 or 12 packets of ace-K (SweetOne), because Splenda wasn't available in the US yet, and could only be ordered from Canada at about double what it costs now, plus shipping. * NOW brand "potent white extract" stevia powder. Stevia varies very widely in strength refinement and aftertaste from brand to brand, and this one is strong and well-refined without the licorice taste. -- jamie ) "There's a seeker born every minute." |

Thanks! I suspected it might have been you, but didn't want to give you
the credit if I couldn't remember for certain, and I was too lazy to google the group. :-) I found 'Herbal Select' brand Stevia powder extract at my local grocery store at 3/4 the price of the NOW brand. They have the same sweetening power and I haven't noticed any licorice aftertaste with it. on 4 Jul 2004 03:26:23 GMT, (jamie) wrote: The stevia*/liquid saccharin formula was from me.
