Default Salt as a sugar substitute???

Today at work, I saw an elderly lady put salt into her coffee. I
thought she had made a mistake and warned her before she started
drinking it, but she told me how she couldn't tell the difference! Is
this a common ailment to not be able to distinguish salt and sugar?

how couldn't she tell the difference?

is it like the way a dork can't tell the difference between a serious
post and a troll post?

Does anyone here use Monosodium Glutamate (also called MSG or flavor
essence or Accent) as a sugar substitute? For a friend of mine it
tastes almost like sugar when added to coffee.

"Andrew"/"KellyClarkston" must be a very lonely individual. She/he always
posts the same sort of brain dead question, and rarely responds (this thread
being a noteworthy exception).
