the
jeans and shorts I purchased just a few months ago
Ok, that last one isn't that bad, it just sucks to have to buy more

clothes
after just buying more clothes.

Yes, it does indeed suck. I've lost 12 inches in my waist alone... have
been through quite a few sizes. It's hard to keep finding new things
appropriate to wear to my work. I've got a difficult figure to fit, even
with the weight loss. Actually, when I was at my ideal weight in the pass,
it was still difficult to find well-fitting clothes, so I don't expect that
to get any better for me.

Today I broke 3 more pairs of pants out of mothballs because the ones in current
rotation are are getting too loose (there are more to try on, but I didn't feel
like digging for them). I now have another big pile of jeans to take in :-) I
had to toss a couple of pairs in the giveaway bag, though, because I could see
that they would still gap oddly even if I DID take them in. What pleased me the
most, however, was that I also added a couple of pairs of pants to my rotation
that I had previously taken in TOO MUCH so they were too tight to wear yet. Now
they fit PERFECTLY (one of them might even be a touch too LOOSE now)! I'm really
happy for that positive reinforcement because my weight hasn't changed in almost
two months -- but the bod is DEFINITELY shrinking, even so! Must be those
previously mentioned halfway houses for fat :-)

Your remark about your clothes being too big sounded familiar. I'm having
the same problem. Have you considered shopping at GoodWill, Salvation Army,
etc.? You have to look, but you can probably find clothing to fit you for
next to nothing. Plus, you can help them out by taking in your old stuff.
I've been lucky to be receiving hand-me-downs from my SIL, and I've also
visited the GoodWill store and found jeans and shirts.

Frankly, I'm trying to refrain from buying any NEW clothes until I get to my
goal.

My youngest granddaughter calls me 'Baggy Daddy'...

I have been very lucky that my brothers have given me hand-me-downs. I
have also found some great online discount outlet sites where I can find
the kind of outdoor clothing that's often the most expensive to replace.

My wife's aunt is a whiz with a sewing machine and the last time she came
to visit, she took in some favorite shirts and even a couple of pairs of
slacks for me. It's quite an art, a lot more complicated that you would
think.

I have lived in the same area for 6 years now and I don't even have a clue
if there is even a Good Will or any kind of second hand shops around here.
I guess I should do some research and find out. I keep saying I'm not going
to buy new clothes until I reach my goal, but I keep having to go places
where clothing is required! I at least was smart the last time and hit
Kohl's when they were having a clearance sale so I didn't feel too bad
getting dress pants for $5 and tops for under $10. I don't have anyone out
here to hand me down clothes, but I have come to discover I can fit into my
hubby's t-shirts, woohoo, my bumming wardrobe doubled! Thanks for all of
your great advice (now and in previous posts) Linda, you are an inspiration!

Take care,

I guess I never gave this aspect much thought, but you are correct. And I
have not had to take Tums for heartburn in 6 months!

3. I always have energy and no longer want a nap in the afternoon

Thaks much for the reminders, especially this one!

How long did it take you to get to this?

The constant energy came after doing Tae Bo cardio and a treadmill for a few
weeks. The not wanting naps must have come at the same time, but I didn't
realize it until just recently when my mind told me it is nap time and my
body said no way, we are not going to sleep the day away. I was rather
shocked because I get stuck in routines and think that I "have" to do
certain things, but my body finally rebelled and I'm learning to do things
when I need to, not just because the clock on the wall says it is time to.

1. The induction headache is hell, pure hell

Some experts recommend glutamine or glycerine to relieve the 'withdrawal
symptoms'. Search for Rosedale and glutamine and carnitine, and for "aan"
and "glycerine".

Sure, where were you six months ago when I could have used this information!
I made it through and knew it was going to happen and if that is the worst
that I have to go through to become healthy, I'd do it again.
