You are confusing smoke curing with smoke cooking. Different processes,
different results. Smoke cooking does NOT preserve.

They sure can. Check out the vacuum sealer on the link below. Semi
commercial for the home, and bags are 70% cheaper than the Foodsaver bags.
Makes the Foodsaver look like cheap plastic from Korea
