I was just curious if any of you reward yourself in any way when you reach
certain milestones? If so, would you please share with the group what it is
you have done for yourself or given yourself along the way.

I didn't give myself anything until I was 20 lbs. down, and I KNOW food is
not supposed to be a reward, but I used it anyway! This is what I have done
so far:

-20 lbs. One can of diet pop (caffeine free diet pepsi). I had only been
drinking water up until then. Let me tell you, it was the best tasting pop
I had ever had! I only drink it occassionaly now, which is pretty good
considering I used to drink at least a couple cans a day.

-25 lbs. One cup of decaf coffee. Just so happens that was the best cup of
coffee I had ever had! I have about one cup of decaf a week now.

Those were the only two food rewards I used.

-30 lbs. I treated myself to a new haircut and style. I had 11 inches cut
off and donated it to Locks of Love. This was the first time my husband had
ever seen me with short hair, ever! Of course we have only been married for
3 years, but we have been together for 7, so that was quite a shock for him.

-50 lbs. New Clothes! I ended up with 3 light sweaters, 4 cotton tops, 2
polo type tops, 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of dress pants. Plus we went out
with a group of friends for drinks, so that was a little reward too.

I have not done any rewards since then. I guess at -75 lbs. I'll come up
with something since I will then be at 3/4 of my goal. Just not sure what
that will be at this point.

Take care,
moonprincess

Why deny yourself diet soda at all? There are diet sodas available
without aspartame, if that's an issue for you. And what about decaf
coffee? Why not drink decaf coffee? Many of us drink these
regularly with no problems.

I know that you read my earlier post about my shopping trip; that has

really
been the only 'reward' that I've given myself since I've started. I don't
think I can count the Fitday program I bought and downloaded as a

'reward,'
but it really was a wonderful gift for me, since I used to pay VERY little
attention to the food I would put into my mouth before low carb.

When I reach goal, I plan on clothes shopping (figure I'll have to) and
probably buying a ring or bracelet to mark the event. (What woman doesn't
need MORE jewelry?! ;-D)

I'm like Linda. I have no interest now in any special foods. I've dropped
27 pounds but have 15 to go. When I get there, it will be a clothes
shopping spree.

Never reward yourself with food.

Brag on this newsgroup, buy yourself new clothes, but do not eat to
reward yourself. That's what made you fat (among other things)

i

1. I said I KNOW not to use food as a reward
2. I highly doubt diet pop and coffee is what made me fat among other
things
