Rec: Scalloped Fauxtatoes
The Old Boot invented this last night. It's one of her best yet.
SCALLOPED FAUXTATOES 1- Kohlrabi bulb 1- Onion 1/2- cup Whipping cream 1/2- cup Chicken broth Soya Flour Butter Salt and Pepper Peel and slice kohlrabi and onion about 1/4 inch thick, layer these in a casserole as you would scalloped potatoes, salt and pepper each layer adding little dabs of butter and a sprinkle of flour as you go along - ending with kohlrabi and dabs of butter. Pour liquid mixture into the casserole and bake at 350F for approx 1 hour. It may take more than that, be sure the kohlrabi is fork-tender. You could also cook them in the microwave oven. It likes to boil over, so use a big casserole. Freezes just fine. -- Pepere A bona fide, carb-forlorn, frying purple Keto pee-er |
