Yo,
I see all these ppl and recipes saying that the Liquid Splenda bases out
there
you only need to use a few drops of them. I never find this to be the case
with my Natures Flavors Splenda Base.
I always need Tablespoons of the stuff! At LEAST 3-4 Ts of it to sweeten my
dessert decaf at night
Am I just whacked out of my mind (I did bite my tongue almost in half as a
child and needed stitches)
or is this a personal preference?
I see recipes with a few packettes of Splenda and Ive made them and THERE IS
NOOOO WAY it was even
discernable that there was even sweetener in it!

What gives?

Some people do experience a bitter aftertaste with Spelnda. I've never
tasted it, but I've had two friends stop using it for that very reason.
Really don't know the cause. Sorry I'm not more help.

I have noticed in some recipes using cocoa that splenda seems even bitter to
salty.
Maybe it's different with different people like saccharin is?

I don't have the syrup base yet,. since the 8 oz. bottle I saw on the
internet was $17.XX and was almost $25 with shipping.

I know I need lots of the boxed Splenda to sweeten things. I pour about two
inches of the stuff into a glass before adding milk, or whatever.

Sorry to hear your report that at least one of the bases is weak.

I just started using Splenda and it is the only sugar substitute that has
gotten me off of sugar. It doesn't taste bitter to me like Equal or Sweet
and Low. Also I find that one packet of Splenda is about equal to 2
tablespoons of sugar, but that may be just me :-)

It never used to, but all of a sudden a few months ago the Splenda
started leaving an awful taste in my mouth for a long time after using
it. I never figured out why, but I'm back to Equal. Strangely, the
DaVinci syrups don't seem to do it. I wonder if it's because they use
liquid Splenda in them? Anyway, it's very strange.

Question: Are you refering to the original "sweet" syrup base by
Nature's Flavors, or the more recently introduced concentrated vanilla
syrup base. Only the latter is a concentrated sweetener:
