Default Curves

Hi guys,

I just read the Curves book and it promotes low carb along with (their own)
exercise program. Has anyone tried it? I'm thinking about joining. Could use
some outside encouragement and maybe being with other people in the same boat
would help. May also make me actually exercise instead of sitting on the couch
looking at that Pilates tape.

Thanks,
Lori

I joined curves last year. I couldn't get into it. 1/2 hour of exercise is
not enough for me. All the weight I lost was from low carb, not Curves.

However, I recently joined a gym. Within the past 2 weeks. My body feels
firmer already and I lost another 7 lbs since I joined.

Whether Curves is for you or not , is totally personal preference, however I
need at least an hour or more of exercise 5 times a week for noticable
results.

I checked out a Curves knock-off nearby called Fitness For Women. Same
concept. I really want to join - I KNOW it would work for me! I did a
circuit years ago at a regular Bally's type gym and had such good results.
That was years before I had kids and turned into a giant egglplant! LOL! I
did a 30 min workout 3 -4 times a week and it toned me up, i lost some
weight and inches and got into a bikini in a very short amount of time!

The only reason I haven't joined is the $$. You have to join for a year to
get the 29.99 a month rate, otherwise it's about 50 a month, too steep for
me right now. I also don't know if I could leave the kids with DH 3 nights a
week, i'd feel bad :-)

You should call them and check it out, usually the places will give you at
least a free workout - if not a free 1 week trial.

Curves just opened less than a year ago in our small town. I thought about
joining, since they had a special discount for school employees at the time,
but I couldn't see spending that much money just for a 30 min. workout site
for me.

Do you have a YWCA or YMCA close by? It's more expensive, but depending on
what they have to offer, I think it's the better buy. Many of them have
childcare services, exercise classes, weight rooms, swimming pools, etc.,
plus activities and programs for the whole family. And a great place for
kids' parties, too.

We're dead broke right now or we'd join the one close to us. So, for now,
I'm out walking when I can.

I pay 39 dollars a month now for a full gym with kick boxing classes, toning
classes, weights, treadmills, babysitting...everything!

Much more worth the money than curves...and I'm seeing results.
