'bad' breakfasts
i was wondering if anyone had any insight on this: around 11am on
saturdays, a couple of our friends have this thing where we go over and they make buttermilk belgian waffles. we don't go every week, maybe every other week or something, depending. this saturday, i kind of ate a large quantity of waffles on a rather empty stomach (1 1/2 'belgian'-size, i guess), with about 1 tbsp maple syrup. i had made an effort to eat 1 oz. of cheddar cheese beforehand, but i still couldn't really pair the waffles with anything else for nutrition-- no peanut butter in their house. i was not hungry until about 3:30, i felt quite satisfied, but i felt dizzy as hell. just really weak or fatigued and weird, and dizzy like i said. do you think it's because the only thing i had eaten all day was waffles? the thing is, i got this feeling another time this week, about an hour after eating some shrimp salad on a baguette. i felt that way all night, just really tired, queasy and weak, and then i had a slice of pizza around 2am and felt better. i can't tell if its food/diet related, or something else. i just think it might be because eating makes me feel better, if for a little while. i was pretty tired over the winter and got my blood tested for it just in case, but they didn't find anything, only a very small trace of a hyperactive thyroid. maybe i have not been eating enough protein lately? sara |

Adding fat does not fix the problem, it only exacerbates the nausea. I don't even eat a bowl of oatmeal without egg whites, egg beaters, or a protein powder shake. -- the volleyballchick |
