My first mini-goal achieved!
Hi y'all,
I think its been about two weeks since my last post. I usually only get time on the weekends to read and post, but last weekend was a busy one. I am happy to announce that as of this morning's weigh-in I have met my first mini goal!!! And 3 weeks ahead of schedule. Way back in January when I started this journey, I had set a goal to lose 25lbs by the first week of May. I got on the scale this morning and "ta da!" 25 pounds lost! It feels so good to have accomplished a goal. My next mini goal will be to lose 10 more pounds by Canada Day which is July 1st. That gives me 12 weeks to lose the 10lbs. I think it is reasonable. According to FitDay I will need to lose about 0.843lbs per week to meet my goal. I sure hope I can do it! Thanks Mary! Yeesh, a giant bag of cat litter -- I never thought about it
that way. Now if only I could lose about 2 more bags -- wow! I set similar mini goals the whole year I lost weight and met every one. It's very motivating. It wouldn't have been nearly as much fun if I had just started by saying I wanted to lose 97 pounds. Thanks Wendy! I know I still have 45lbs to reach my ultimate goal, but
setting mini-goals makes it seem achievable and not so overwhelming. Thanks Chris! That's exactly it! My way of thinking about food and
exercise has totally changed and I feel really comfortable with it. For the first time, I feel like I can do this -- all the way. It's not a diet, it really is a way of life. I owe a lot to this group for helping me see the light so-to-speak.
