Default How to diet

Sorry Mike, I`m very healthy......and just what percentage of your flock
diets , loses what they want and do not gain the pounds back....right .
You get paid to tell people to eat a balanced diet and exercise ?
........farce. As for what I see in the mirror ? : someone who could go
on any number of diet types , lose and maintain low weight on any of
them. This is supposedly a diet group , not a workout meeting ( two
different animals ) . The posts in response to mine are noteworthy in
that they fail to mention that they have led their people to the
promised land...cause they haven`t .....just more voices coming from the
ocean of weight loss failures...in the same class as Jenny Craig and
nutri-system. My posts provide all the physiological and psychological
tips necessary to be a diet success.....or listen to the pack and chase
your tail. SD

Absolutely not, I`m almost always a little hungry and weak, but never
have a headache . It`s doable and CERTAIN as to results ( also simple) .

"always hungry and weak"

What a way to live. Go crawl back under your rock.

Sounds like an excellent plan to maintain the body of a frail 100 year
old. Fine for those at that age and inactive but those of us that are
younger and occasionally stumble into an activity that might raise the
heart rate above sedentary would be in serious danger of cardiac arrest
following this plan.

although even a candy bar diet works

One could lose weight this way but consuming bars of 17% saturated fat
will eventually clog arteries and lead to heart disease. You're missing
the difference between good weight and good health.

You can eat anything you want, when you want ( tho not as much as you
want) in this way."

Again, you have to eat healthy ingredients, not just less of them.
Losing weight will not allow you to eat anything you want and maintain
good health. Smoking is an excellent way to decrease appetite and lose
weight. Would it make you healthier? What about a diet of a couple
tablespoons of lard? That's not a lot of calories but how long do you
think your arteries would remain clear?

VERY IMPORTANT : never let yourself get too
hungry, this is the number one reason diets fail, when you REALLY are
too hungry,

People over eat when they are inactive. Inactivity can be caused by
stress, depression, low self confidence, boredom or other triggers.
Eating temporarily distracts the mind from these issues. Food becomes
the drug that takes the pain away. That's when diets fail.

An active, distracted lifestyle leads to less eating and more exercise.
A much better long term approach.

drink a can of real soda

A 200 calorie blast of high fructose corn syrup is your answer to
hunger? Exactly how does a sugar rush followed by the inevitable energy
crash 30 minutes later help hunger?

I should have added that I have lost and maintained for over ten years.
I currently consume 6 meals each day totaling 2100 calories and
happily rest at 160 lbs.

My diet is not low fat, but it is low saturated fat. It is not low
carb, but it is low simple carb. It is not low protein but it restricts
proteins which are not lean. My weekly exercise consists of lifting
weights 5 days, volleyball 2 nights and skiing 2 days and 1 night. This
is a lot of activity but my diet compliments my life with strength,
stamina and energy.

Yours should do the same.

**** off. I'm 23% bodyfat, can run 5 miles a day, ski, and bike. I eat
what I like, have no "off limit" foods, never feel hungry or weak by choice,
and enjoy my life.

Why do loser trolls always show up around spring break?

61 y/o spring breaker? That'd be a good thing to bring up before
hitting the shrink's couch.

I bet you`re a chunky sob too. What does anything you`ve written have
to do with my diet recommendations ? Nothin`, that`s what. Probably 95 %
of diets fail which is one big reason why Americans are way fatter than
ever and "new" crap diets come out year after year....fatties want to
find magic in their grease stained , crumb filled lives...think thin act
fat. Some people who have "added" to this thread have lost weight and
kept it off, my suggestions were for the multitudes who have not , and
I`ve supplied pleanty of wiggle room for many different
approaches....all will work. The group makes a strong case for the
status quo and defense of ignorance. As for "successful" people doing ,
or not doing, this or that : "successful" people usually don`t do ****
`less there`s somthin` in it for them. SD
