This should be "sticky" (a persistent reminder) on every 'puter, imho... If you see "blog" or "blogspot" in a subject line or in a url in the body of the message, it's not good for your health and usually an unprofessional click-ad money scam. Before visiting untrusted websites and blogs, in your browser, turn off cookies and java and javascript, don't load images automatically, and use an ad-blocker before visiting blogs AND anonymize your browsing if you know how. If the site complains, wonder why. This doesn't apply to your bank and other vital and trusted websites and depending on your browser, you can make exceptions. My banking website reminds me to restart my browser (erase any trace from RAM) after logging out for my own security. And always clean your cookies (can be automatic) if you choose to accept them, after every browsing session! And BEWARE the Oreo cookies! They pack on the calories! Nevermind the milk! This Saturday morning PSA brought to you by Andy Reading and eating less spam everyday. My kind o' diet! -- T2 HBP Gout 6'3", 247/195/+-195 |

This Saturday morning PSA brought to you by Andy Reading and eating less spam everyday. My kind o' diet! -- T2 HBP Gout 6'3", 247/195/+-195 Here's how I handle spam, and it works perfectly...so far. I have two email addresses. One, my main one with Yahoo uses one address, but the one I use for all business, friends and important contacts is another account, still free and still with yahoo. Of course you can set up as many as you want...just remember to sign in and out if you are blogging or posting, or heaven forbit, downloading anything your Norton or whatever warns you about, All the spam goes to the one I use online...this one. The other one only has important emails. I don't check this email very often, but the last time I did I had several hundred spams, which I can just eliminate by pressing the erase all button. Here's how I handle oreos...I don't, but I would like to, with ice cold milk of course. dkw |

Andy, Firefox has a add-on called Adblock and another called Noscript, they accomplish a lot of what you are suggesting. (all good ideas) |
