Thanks to Dr Atkins I need to take in the waist on even the new pair of sz
12 jeans I just bought

Anyone have good tips for doing this? I need to take them in ALOT but only
in the waist. I can't wear a belt anymore- they are too bunched up looking
and it looks bulky and is not comfy.

[...]

Lucky you!
If you need to take the waist in - say 2" total - it is best to take 4 darts
using up 1/2" each than just 2 darts using up 1" each. I don't know where
you live, but often, little alteration shops will do this kind of work for
very low cost. With the great deal you got on these jeans, you could afford
a teensy investment! Best wishes....

Congrats!! Yep I'm in that 'in-between phase' too with clothes - not
buying jeans until I'm at goal. Too hard to take in. And I've only
been buying stuff on clearance or at thrift shops.

Make sure you have plenty of extra machine needles around and work when you
are feeling "patient".

Denim is one of the harder fabrics to sew waistbands, etc. Make sure you
have a large sewing machine needle in and not a fine one for dress weight
fabric.

Supposedly, a lot of cigarette smoking is habitual, and it's hard to break
habits. For instance, I wear glassed when I lift weights in the morning.
They typically slip down my face due to sweat, so I'll push them back up.
When I've put in my contacts and gone lifting, I'll still put my hand to
my face to push up my glasses, even though I don't have any glasses on.
That type of habit is hard to face and break.

How did this happen? This is supposed to be in response to Luna's stuff
about smoking.
