Ive been dieting for about 6 weeks and have lost about 11lb. Only thing
now is that my weight seems to vary by as much as 5lb from day to day!
Whats going on, I still think im losing weight, my clothes feel looser.
BTW im about 8lb off my target weight

Are you checking the same time each day? Best time to check is after wake
up and gone to the bathroom ..
Maybe your scale needs replacing..

Default Weight fluctuation

Personally to avoid scale crazies I only weigh myself hourly.
Seriously, I try not to weigh myself daily for just the reason you
cited, the normal fluctuation of my body. Not saying that I don't, but
I have weighed myself daily and the result is, the scale dictates
whether or not I am going to have a good day or not.

So I strive not to weigh myself daily.

On a technical note:

If ya gotta do it then...
* Weigh in at the same time everyday.
* Same clothing or no clothing. (quiet in the peanut gallery).
* Make sure to place the scale in the exact same location.
* I have a scale that tells me if I am centered (body position) or
not.

Hope this helps, it did me.

- Ralph

Weight does vary depending on different factors. Usually, the total loss
is constant over time.

Don't weigh every day - so many things affect your weight day-to-day.
It could be hydration, bloating, constipation, etc.

You weight will vary continually, it's the "average" that matters.. how
salty you ate, how stressed you are, how much you worked out the day before,
if you drank or ate anything before weigh-in.... those are all (and many
others) variables that influence how much you weight..

Add to that that the position of your scale on the floor is even enough to
change your weigh-in... I weigh 3 lbs less in my bathroom than I do in my
kitchen.. floor must be un-even I guess.. I did take my scale to a WW center
and checked it (I work for WW) and it's fine..

Needless to say I weigh-in in my bathroom !!!! ;op

Relax... your weight will fluctuate all the time, if you're lucky, not much,
if not.. I fluctuate up to 8 lbs a day.. and yeah... I freak out every time
still... ;op
