My trusty merrels have finally given up on me... completely.

I need shoes, I'm awfully short on money..

any suggestions?

I always get merrels, cause I love the fit... but I just can't afford
them...

Have you looked for them on sale anywhere? In addition to Merrell's I
like Saucony, suggested by the college weight and fitness trainer as the
one real athletes wear, and New Balance. Perhaps you need to just hit
the sales at sporting goods stores and see what's out there.

Have you looked online to see if any of the discount shoe website have the
style & price you like? I googled "Merrell shoes" and came up with lots of
hits.

So have I... that's one choice, I was just trying to find some other brand
of shoes... merrells are comfy, but they barely last me a year...

I have always liked New Balance but had trouble finding reasonably priced NB
running shoes. I bought a pair of Ryka running shoes on sale at Dick's
Sporting Goods and I really like them. I paid about 33 dollars I think. Ryka
only makes women's shoes. Just my 2.5 cents...

I got sketchers, around $60.00 a few years back, wore them for 4 years, Lee,
who has had maybe 2 pairs in her life that actually fit

JCPenny's but watch they sell 2 levels, more pricey ones are what you want,
and in some malls they have sketcher stores, they are also on line, Lee

All sport shoes are made in China from similar materials, by the same
labor shops. Just try on some and decide which fits best, in your
price range. Some of the best shoes I have purchased have been
Champion brand from Payless and KMart. I used to be a competitive
triathlete, and insisted on Nike but the quality of their shoes has
gone down considerably in the last 20 years or so. I am currently
wearing New Balance and Everlast (KMart) cross-trainers, and like them
both. The New Balance were $29.00 on clearance and the Everlast were
$19.99. The only shoes I have been completely disgusted with were
Reebok cross-trainers.

Good luck!

I agree on the Reebok crosstrainners.. I used to buy reebok and that's kinda
what shot me to merrels..

"good brand" shoes are certainly going down.. which is why I'm "lookign
around"
