Default Applebees ??

We went to Applebees today for lunch and it seemed like the WW menu had
fewer items. I know they replaced the Southwest Chicken salad with a Cobb
salad. Nothing else really appealed to me so I ended up ordering a regular
grilled shrimp and spinach salad (hold the bacon, dressing on the side),
picked out all but about a Tbsp of the almonds, and gave the garlic bread to
DH.

I think they have cut back on the items. We ate at a Denny's on our way
home yesterday. The fit fare didn't appeal so I ordered a classic
burger and the waitress brought it with a bowl of seedless grapes. I
had the garden salad and ice tea. I think it was a well balanced
healthy choice. I put mustard on the burger with the lettuce, tomato
and pickle.

We don't have one nearby but were out of town. The meal was somewhat
disappointing, even for DH. Usually I get the confetti chicken or tilapia
but I was in the mood for a salad.

I found the current Applebees WW menu disappointing during my trip to St.
Louis last month. I thought the "light fare" menu at Dennys was much more
satisfying.

During my last visit to Applebees I did comment that the service was....
"unobtrusive".

I don't really like the amount of noise in there and the last couple of
times we went it was less than good service, I figure when I eat out I am
spending good money we both worked hard to get so I insist on being pampered
or I am NOT spending it, Lee

I find Applebees terrible and over-priced. Been there a few times and
really haven't enjoyed it or found it outstanding in any way, so I've made
up my mind just to stay clear of it from now on.

Why don't restaurants understand how to present an appealing, filling
healthy meal? My breakfast choice at the Doubletree was 6 points but a
lot of the "healthy" choices on the menu were more than ten points. I
can cook a lovely meal at home for 6-7 points, have fresh vegetables and
a great salad too. I thought Applebees could do a lot more with its
offerings. There are so many 0 point vegetables.
