Em,

Big Y started carrying Vita's Tortillas this week too.

Wonderful!

I had just gotten some La Tortilla via mail order and they were so gluey and
soy-ish in comparison. My blood sugar can handle the Vita's, I don't get
the stomach symptoms that mean "too much wheat", and they make a wonderful
addition to my food plan.

And what and where is Big Y? I don't think I have seen any of
those. Soon I think I will be going back to Western Mass. to
start photographing gravestones. Is that where Big Ys are?

Jean B,

Big Y is a locally owned chain that has quite a few stores in W. Mass. I'm
not certain where all their stores are, but there are stores in Amherst on
the Hadley line (University Drive, right next to the P.O.) and Greenfield,
(right off exit 26 heading down Rte 2 towards Shelburne).

Thanks! I'll try to remember that. I have to get out there for
more genealogy-related stuff anyway. (I was in Deerfield a couple
of weekends ago and am appalled at the loss of information as the
cemeteries crumble. That's related to why I haven't been so much
in evidence.)

Jean,

Did you find the cemetery on River Road in Deerfield? It's one of my
favorites. Also the one in Sunderland (also on River Road) just south of
the town center. Both are beautifully situated and have a lot of good old
stones.

Just got to the Albany Rd. one looking for ancestors/relatives
thus far. Now I am honing some techniques and gathering
information before I start going back out to Deerfield and the
surrounding towns. I want to take pics etc. and try to document
what is there. This information is disappearing. And I also
think that it is nice to have pics along with epitaphs.

Reduced Carb

Calories: 60
cal from fat: 13
Total fat: 1.5 g
Total carb: 10 g
dietary fiber: 5 g
sugars: 1 g
Protein: 7 g

(The math checks out -- they haven't sneakily deducted fiber from the total
already, so it looks like just 5 g net carbs.)

Ingredients:
water, wheat gluten, corn starch, oat fiber, whole wheat flour, oat bran,
isolated soy protein, soy flour, soy oil, sesame flour, salt, sodium acid
pyrophosphate, dextrose, sodium bicarbonate, calcium propitionate (a
preservative), fumaric acid, potassium sorbate, monodiglycerides,
sucralose, sodium metabisulfite.

They are regular sandwich-sized pitas (about 6 or 7 inches in diameter).

I don't know if these are just a local thing or not. The company is
located in Massachusetts, so it might be. (Their regular pita bread has
been available forever around here, so it's not a new company.)

Em
Its not a new Company but the Low Carb Pita is new, and its excellent, very soft, stays soft, lite does not fill you up, its perfect for a diet. I deliver for Josephs to the supermarkets in the Boston area and many people tell me that they are very happy with the Low Carb Pita If anyone wants delivery in the Boston area dont hesitate to call me 978-994-6243 my name is Tony Antar.
